Took back-to-back handicap hurdles for Keith Dalgleish, the second of them off this mark, gradually lost his way over obstacles for that yard. Still looks lack lustre for this yard who themselves are rather quiet at the moment, best watched.
Took advantage of some help from the handicapper on the back of an eye-catching hurdles reappearance run to score at Cartmel (21,2f) on chasing debut. Went well throughout, won with plenty in hand, unlikely a 7lb penalty will prevent a bold bid.
Matched his hurdling form when sent chasing here over 15.8f, ran well to finish second despite the trip not being in his favour. This trip will suit better, tongue-tie on for the first time, should be capable of getting involved off this mark.
Irish point-to-point winner on debut, modest form over hurdles (not seen since falling at Ascot last November). Connections now send him chasing off his hurdles mark, interesting newcomer to this sphere, worth watching in the market.
Took well to hurdles initially winning a Uttoxeter novice (23.3f) last July making the most of a good opportunity. Failed to match that level subsequently in handicaps, returns from a significant absence sent chasing with a bit to prove.
Looks as though he's been hard to train going backwards from his reappearance over hurdles here last time over 24.3f on his second run for this yard. A hurdles winner in the past, goes chasing late in life in first-time cheekpieces.
Fair over hurdles a winner off this mark in the past he's never really gone on from a debut second over fences. In truth he may have needed the run when returning but has to rebuild his chasing career and others make more appeal.
Progressing steadily in novice hurdles since racing resumed his performances improving in line with a decrease in his starting price. Connections bypass handicap hurdles to go chasing as a 4yo, interesting, stable rather quiet though.
Forecasts
Demon D'Aunou (5/2), Thibault (7/2), Blue N Yellow (9/2), Rebel Leader (9/2), Kitty's Light (6/1), Moans Cross (14/1), Scooby (25/1), Goldencard (66/1)
The strongest and most interesting chase on the card with DEMON D’AUNOU bidding to follow up his successful Cartmel chasing debut which produced a smooth victory. Penalised 7lb he looks weighted and should remain competitive the only worry being that he didn’t quite progress as expected over hurdles. Thibault will enjoy this increased trip after producing a creditable first chasing effort over shorter last time here and now with a first-time tongue-tie on to assist his progress. Rebel Leader will be of interest if ready to go on his chasing debut having been a winner already between the flags in Ireland. Kitty’s Light needs noting in the market given his background of late.
- Demon D'Aunou
- Thibault
- Rebel Leader
