Can be quickly ruled out given she has failed to show much in a pair of maidens at Windsor (1m/1m2f; good to firm), including when she was tailed off last month.
Frankel colt. Made 200,000gns as a yearling. One of two newcomers in this race for yard who continue to operate at a decent strike-rate. Makes appeal on paper in a weak race & likely to feature if market speaks in his favour.
Not seen since finding just one too good when second at Southwell (7f; standard) in November. That was a step up on his debut effort the time before, but still not form to shout from the rooftops about. Place claims at best.
Progressed from low-key debut run when upped in trip to finish third to a red-hot favourite (2/7f) at Windsor (1m; good to firm). More needed as he tries 1m2f but no reason to see why he can't get involved again.
By Golden Horn and out of a French 1m1f two-year-old winner who is a full sister to Group One winner Magic Wand. Makes plenty of appeal in a weak-looking affair & could well have what it takes to win this. Market moves significant.
6,500gns yearling. Already been gelded ahead of racecourse debut. By Toronado and a half-brother to 7f two-year-old winner Ghost Queen. Unlikely to play a leading role first time out so can only be watched.
Showed ability on debut but then failed to back that up when seventh of nine over further at this course. Drops back in trip with questions to answer. First-time cheekpieces applied.
Teofilo colt. 65,000gns yearling. Full brother to connections' Amazing Red & White Desert. Half-brother to four more winners including Red Cadeaux. This is the minimum trip he would want and the stable are far from at their best.
Goes up in trip again after failing to show much in two starts so far. Impossible to fancy on that evidence and likely to enter handicap company after this.
Tries 1m2f for the first time after finishing out the back in a pair of maidens. Cannot be recommended on what she has show so far and is subsequently opposed for the time being.
Makes seasonal reappearance on first run for new yard after making a quiet start to her career when midfield on debut at Kempton (1m; standard to slow) in November. Market check needed with stable among the winners.
Beaten a long way on debut when seventh at Kempton (1m3f; standard to slow). This contest doesn't look any easier and another low-key effort is expected. Best watched.
Will need to settle better than she did on debut but likely to be all the better with that experience under her belt. Winner has advertised the form well since & the step up to 1m2f could see her improve.
Forecasts
Tilly Frankl (11/4), Dark Spectre (10/3), Amtiyaz (10/3), Golden Rules (9/2), French Polish (5/1), Red Celebre (22/1), Curtiz (33/1), Lemon Song (50/1), Thomas Percy (150/1), Just Albert (150/1), Love Poems (200/1), Anisoptera (300/1), Dromiskin (300/1)
John Gosden runs two newcomers & they both make plenty of appeal on paper. Golden Rules is a son of Golden Horn and is out of a mare who is a full sister to Magic Wand. Meanwhile, Amtiyaz is a 200,000gns son of Frankel. Confidence will only be heightened in the pair if they are supported in the market, but preference is for another progeny of Frankel in the shape of TILLY FRANKL who did little wrong when third to the talented Magical Morning. With the extra 2f offering the likelihood of more progress, she is fancied to get off the mark at the second attempt. Dark Spectre is respected, as is Red Celebre though he will likely need further in the near future.
- Tilly Frankl
- Golden Rules
- Amtiyaz
