Fair fourth in a 1m3f novice race at Kempton last month but finished well beaten upped to 1m4f in a similar event at the same venue subsequently. Others make more appeal.
Struggled in both starts this campaign most recently when 20L seventh over 1m4f in a classified event at Catterick (good-to-soft) at the start of this month. Wears a tongue tie for the first time.
Showed good form when finishing runner-up in a 1m2f novice race at Newbury (good-to-soft) when making his debut earlier this month. Strong claims of going one better for top connections.
Unraced Kingston Hill colt purchased for €27,000 at the sales as a yearling. Half-brother to multiple winner Dominus and market support would be notable on first racecourse appearance.
Placed on four of his five starts so far including when runner-up over 1m2f at Pontefract (good-to-firm) last time out. Likely to prove hard to beat on his first attempt at this distance.
Struggled in two starts to date most recently when 23L fourth in a small field 1m2f novice race at Leicester (good-to-firm) a fortnight ago. Others make more appeal.
Unraced Teofilo gelding and a half-brother to winners Estijlaa and Loolwah. Represents a good yard and is an interesting runner on racecourse debut.
Well beaten on both starts so far including when 27L ninth in first time cheekpieces (retained) over 1m2f at Chepstow (good) last month. Minor role likely upped in trip.
Unraced Planteur gelding bought for €46,000 as a two-year-old last November. Half-brother to winner Juninha but is probably best watched on first racecourse appearance.
Unraced Free Eagle colt sold for 72,000 gns at the sales as a yearling. Half-brother to a number of multiple winners including Mordin and he is an interesting runner on debut.
Forecasts
Brilliant Light (5/6), Crystal Pegasus (6/4), Raased (15/2), Yorktown (20/1), Byron Hill (25/1), Merry Yarn (40/1), Well Planted (50/1), Daafy (80/1), Relativity (125/1), Gms Princess (200/1)
CRYSTAL PEGASUS sets the standard on form and he can put his experience to good use to get off the mark in this novice event. The selection is tackling this trip for the first time and he can see off Brilliant Light who finished runner-up on debut recently. Third place can go the way of the newcomer Yorktown who was a relatively expensive purchase as a yearling.
- Crystal Pegasus
- Brilliant Light
- Yorktown
