C&D winner has been in good form in the main since joining this yard and built on a number of second place finishes when winning by a short-head over this trip at Chepstow (good-to-firm) last time out. Leading contender off a 5lb higher mark.
Fair 9L fourth in a five runner 7f novice event at Chelmsford in November but struggled over this trip at Windsor on handicap and seasonal debut earlier this month. Others make more appeal.
Leicester winner over the minimum distance last month and ran well when fourth at Bath over the same trip subsequently. Disappointed last time out but has won over this C&D in the past.
C&D winner finished a fair 2¾L fourth in a 6f handicap at Chepstow (good-to-firm) a fortnight ago. Likely more needed racing off a mark 2lb higher than when winning at the same venue last month.
Held both starts since joining this yard including over this C&D last month. Well handicapped on his old form but others hold more obvious claims at present.
Struggled in two starts since returning from a break including when beaten 12½L 11th of 12 in a 6f handicap at Lingfield earlier this month. Probably best watched at present.
11 race maiden came within a neck of rectifying that when finishing runner-up over this trip at Windsor (good-to-firm) at the start of this month. Notable runner despite a 2lb rise in the weights.
Eight time winner including five times over this C&D. Signs of a possible return to form when 3½L fifth over this C&D last month. Market support would be notable racing off a mark 5lb lower than for his most recent victory.
Narrowly beaten in a handicap over this C&D at the start of the month and has seen his handicap mark rise 3lb as a result. Seeking a first 6f success with his only previous victory coming over the minimum distance at Kempton in January.
Five race maiden was beaten 3¼L when finishing fifth over an extended 5f at Bath (good-to-firm) earlier this month. Remains open to improvement and is an interesting runner in this event.
C&D winner is improving with racing this campaign including when finishing 3L second in a C&D handicap at the start of this month. Races off a 1lb lower mark here but has a wide draw to overcome if he's to take this contest.
Off the mark at the seventh attempt when winning by 1L over 7f at at this venue just over four weeks ago. Raised 7lb for that success and drop in trip is not certain to suit.
C&D winner was victorious over this trip at Newcastle in February but has improved with each start since the resumption of racing. May surprise a few better fancied rivals racing off a mark 1lb higher than for that Newcastle triumph.
Forecasts
Eastern Star (7/2), Where Next Jo (5/1), Kingmans Spirit (5/1), Our Man In Havana (11/2), Comeatchoo (7/1), Peachey Carnehan (9/1), Awsaaf (14/1), Sharrabang (16/1), Creek Harbour (25/1), Fantasy Justifier (28/1), Perfect Symphony (33/1), Pushkin Museum (40/1), Dor's Diamond (66/1)
OUR MAN IN HAVANA has been in good form in recent times and having registered a victory on turf last time out he can register one on the AW by taking this competitive sprint handicap. The selection has shown good form here in the past and he can get the better of his rivals with Eastern Star capable of claiming second having finished runner-up on her most recent start. Third place can go the way of Fantasy Justifier who caught the eye when finishing runner-up here last time while Sharrabang, who has shown improvement with each start in recent months is another to consider.
- Our Man In Havana
