Well held in both starts in 2020 but he's entitled to respect on the best of his old form. He's one of the highest rated in the race and should at least be fitter now he's had a couple of spins. Dropping to 7f can also help; worth considering.
Yet to win a race in the UK (won races in Spain and France before he arrived on these shores last year) but he's placed three times in modest company. Wasn't beaten far in a low-key handicap latest and not much more to find to be involved here.
Sound claims on the pick of her form and this does look a bit easier than her last couple of starts. Her yard has been quite lately but no surprise if this mare helps them turn the corner; well worth a betting check now she's back over 7f.
0-26 on turf and needs a big step forward from his recent return to racing. Has won over 7f on the AW but his form has dipped markedly since.
Well held in all five previous starts and not hard to omit from the equation given the poor levels he's shown in two runs this season; also off-putting that he lacks experience at his age.
Ran with promise the only previous time he's tried this trip but there has been little to get excited about from him for a while now and it's more than likely that his maiden status will be hard to shake off if he can't better his recent turf form.
Raced keenly before fading 2f out on her return to action/debut run for Ruth Carr at Thirsk at the start of July; had hinted at ability when with William Haggas but things are yet to take a notable change of direction; hard to fancy this time too.
Her last two starts read well in the context of this race and create hope for a change of fortune (she's been placed five times from eight starts); the return to 7f isn't expected to be an issue but interesting Graham Lee prefers Lucky Violet.
Well held in all three previous starts and not hard to rule out given the initial handicap rating of just 38 suggests there is a lot of work to do; possible she'll improve now upped in trip but there is a lot of risk attached.
Has been ignored in the betting in each of her five previous starts and its not hard to see why when scrutinising the worth of the form. Made no impression when last tried at this trip and is readily passed over from a betting perspective.

Graham Lee has ridden both SUSIE JAVA and Lucky Violet and might well rue the circumstances which see him team up with the latter. Susie Java might still be a maiden but she's been a lot more consistent than the majority of the opposition she faces here and, given that Ben Robinson also knows both horses it would be no surprise to see the riding arrangements work out in the young man's favour. Lucky Violet is suggested as the main danger to the selection, while Eldelbar and Be Bold are others to make room for on the shortlist. Joyful Star is a further contender of note at this level.
- Susie Javea
- Lucky Violet
- Eldelbar
