Maiden winner on debut; flopped at Royal Ascot next time but could hardly have been more impressive when bolting up at Lingfield earlier this month. The main concern would be the quality of the opposition in behind though.
Won a novice event at Hamilton on debut but runner-up rated just 69 was beaten in a maiden since; needs to leave that level of form behind.
Winner on debut at Navan but well held in three subsequent starts at Listed level; this is tougher but yard's runners always warrant respect when sent over here.
Improved from debut to win a Windsor maiden (20/1 shot) last month when making all; couldn't replicate those tactics up in class at Sandown last time though and this is tougher.
Improved from his debut to win a four-runner Ayr maiden last month and not disgraced when third at Sandown when bidding to follow up; needs to progress to have a say here.
Green on debut at Windsor but came on markedly for that when winning back at that venue a week later. Should continue to progress but this is a big ask.
Shaped like he would improve for the run when only narrowly denied on Newcastle debut and similar story when only finding one too good at Doncaster. Still showed signs of inexperience in Listed class at Sandown but may be able to go one better here.
Got the hang of things very nicely late on in a Naas maiden to win with plenty in hand and get the better of a nice prospect who had the benefit of experience. Should improve plenty for that and rates as a fascinating contender here.
Fourth of 18 in the Queen Mary and impressive when dropped in class at York, winning a Listed race under hands and heels earlier this month; should be thereabouts back up in class here.
Well beaten in the Queen Mary but it was a better effort when only narrowly denied at Sandown, hampered in the closing stages. Capable of further progress.
Forecasts
Steel Bull (2/1), Significantly (3/1), Sardinia Sunset (4/1), Night On Earth (10/1), Chief Little Hawk (12/1), Ben Macdui (16/1), Army Of India (16/1), Wings Of A Dove (28/1), Deliver The Dream (40/1), Internationaldream (50/1)
STEEL BULL is a fascinating contender from Ireland following an impressive maiden and he's the tentative selection in a wide open heat. Queen Mary fourth Sardinia Sunset looks a nice prospect and should go well back up in class but Significantly could be the main danger having been a little unlucky not to get his head in front so far.
- Steel Bull
- Significantly
- Sardinia Sunset
