Gelding by Most Improved out of a King's Best mare. Closely related to Kalum River, winner of a 2m½f bumper. Well held on both career starts to date.
Half-sister to winners Sego Success and Benefitthewest both of whom were useful National Hunt performers. Pleasing effort on debut at Roscommon earlier this month but more needed here.
Gelding by Roderic O'Connor out of a Cozzene mare. Dam won over hurdles between 2m4f and 3m. Likely to be better over further.
Impossible to fancy to any extent given he has been tailed off in a pair of bumpers this summer before being pulled up on hurdling debut at Limerick earlier this month.
Sans Frontieres gelding out of a Beneficial mare. Cost €8,000 as a three-year-old. Closely related to bumper winner Maggie Connolly. Best watched.
€42,000 three-year-old. Dam, a point winner, sister to Group-placed 1m two-year-old winner Dark Dancer. Encouraging effort on debut and likely to improve in this contest.
Robin Des Pres gelding out of a Stowaway mare. Cost €8,000 as a three-year-old. Dam was a point-to-point winner. Worth a check in the market for leading trainer.
Yougunnabelucky gelding out of a Alzao mare. Closely related to a couple of winners on the Flat. Yards debutantes often need their first run.
Shirocco gelding out of a Subotica mare. Closely related to Urtheoneiwant, winner over hurdles who stayed 3m2f. Worth a check in the market on debut for local trainer.
Interesting on pedigree as a half-brother to point/bumper and useful 2m hurdle winner Sebastapol out of a Flat and fairly useful hurdle winner. Pleasing third on debut and likely to improve.
Gelding by Sholokhov out of a Ashkhalani mare. Closely related to a couple of winners including Sunny Destination, successful over hurdles.
Lethal Force gelding out of a Nureyev mare. Closely related to Breaking The Bank, decent over hurdles; no real show on first two starts so far and hard to fancy.
Elusive Pimpernel gelding. Cost €4,000 as a foal but fetched €70,000 as a three-year-old. Down the field on debut run at Roscommon earlier this month.
Bought for €13,500 as a yearling. Related to a multitude of National Hunt types. Seventh of 14 on debut at Roscommon earlier this month. Plenty to prove.
Daughter of Dandy Man. Closely related to decent hurdler, Marju King. Dam won over 7f. Market likely to reveal expectations on debut.
Filly by Arakan out of a Flemensfirth mare. Related to Burn And Turn who stayed 2m6f. Stables newcomers generally need first run.
Daughter of Shirocco out of a Montjeu mare. Related to a number of winners including Lagostovegas and Cool Colonnade. Likely to go well on debut for respected trainer/jockey combination.
Forecasts
Zuma Rock (4/6), Mahons Glory (5/2), Weseekhimhere (12/1), Mighty Meggsie (12/1), The Banger Doyle (16/1), Not What It Seems (18/1), Yermanmilan (40/1), Boston Brahmin (50/1), Sub Rocco (50/1), Biscayne Boulevard (80/1), Twentybore (80/1), For The Company (80/1), Tullyhogue Fort (100/1), Lil Codey (100/1), Sera Chanceux (100/1), Bright Lad (125/1), Claude Greengrass (250/1)
The Denis Hogan-trained MAHONS GLORY can land the closing race of day three of the Galway festival. The gelding ran well in defeat on debut at Thurles in March, a race that has seen the eighth of 15 runners finish runner up in a Roscommon bumper earlier this month. Weseekhimhere for Gordon Elliott/Jamie Codd and Zuma Rock for Willie and Patrick Mullins appear more than capable of hitting the frame.
- Mahons Glory
- Weseekhimhere
- Zuma Rock
