Decent efforts on both starts since returning from a break including when sixth over this trip on the AW at Wolverhampton at the start of this month. Visor (first time) replaces the cheekpieces worn of late.

Improving with racing since returning from a break and registered his third career success when winning by 1ÂĽL over this trip at Thirsk (good) earlier this month. Leading contender despite a 5lb rise in the weights.

C&D winner drops in trip following a 5½L fourth when sent off favourite for a 1m handicap at Ayr (good-to-firm) recently. Well handicapped on his AW form and market support would be notable.

Finished runner-up on both starts since winning over this trip at Newcastle at the end of last month. Beaten ÂľL at Ayr (7f, good) last time out and is one for the shortlist racing off a 1lb higher mark in this event.

Placed twice on the AW at two but missed most of 2019. Probably best watched following a heavy defeat over this trip at Thirsk (good) earlier this month when returning from a break.

Five race maiden has run well in finishing third on both starts this campaign. Shaped as if this step up in trip would suit when beaten 2ÂĽL on good ground at Catterick last week and holds strong claims of taking this event.

Five time winner most recently over this trip at Ayr (good-to-soft) off a 7lb higher mark just over 12 months ago. Out of form of late however and market support would be notable.

Lincoln Gamble (5/2), Moretti (4/1), Midnight In Havana (11/2), Aliento (13/2), Constant (15/2), Great Colaci (9/1), Insurplus (11/1), Lukoutoldmakezebak (16/1), Verdigris (16/1), Thaayer (16/1), Blazing Dreams (22/1), Come On Linda (28/1), Cindy Looper (40/1), I'll Be Brief (40/1), Roaring Forties (50/1), Sushi Power (66/1), Starbo (80/1)

Verdict

ALIENTO performed well when runner-up last time out and he is taken to go one better by registering a victory in this big field handicap event. The selection can get the better of last time out winner Moretti while third place can go to Great Colaci who followed up a seasonal debut success with two subsequent placed efforts over this trip.
  1. Aliento
  2. Moretti
  3. Great Colaci
