Cacique gelding from yard with fine record in bumpers. Made winning start when scoring nicely over C&D 17 days, travellng well throughout. Sets a decent standard and should go close again despite having to concede his penalty.

£23,000 Vinnie Roe gedling who is half-brother to a bumper winner. 6th of 10 in LIngfield AW bumper last December and has undergone wind suregry since then. First start back and market worth checking for any sign of confidence.

150/1
Arvico gelding out of mare who failed to score over jumps in 17 attempts but did win between the flags. Tailed off on rceent C&D debut and has a lot to prove on that evidence. First-time tongue-tie now applied.
Not disgraced when sixth of 14 on debut in Exeter 1m5f bumper last October, but this gelded son of Geordieland ran poorly and was tailed off at Huntingdon a few weeks later. Not seen since and may prove better for this return run.
Nicely bred Yeats gelding whose wining dam is half-sister to high-class Stayers Hurdle winner Paisley Park. 11th of 13 in Wincanton bumper on soft ground on debut last February but only beaten 16 lengths. Open to improvement on better ground.

12,500 euros Presenting mare whose dam won at up to 1m4f on Flat and between 2m5f-3m1f over hurdles. Makes racecourse bow for yard in decent form but not known for bumper winners.

Chaztara
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-5| J: C Brace(3)| T: F O'Brien
7/2
Kayf Tara filly out of winning bumper mare. Yard in fine form this summer and has overall 18% winning strike rate in this sphere. Looks one for the short list and any market support would enhance confidence.
Cheaply bought £3,400 daughter of Dylan Thomas. Dam placed in a bumper as well as hurdles and fences. Yard 1-6 in bumpers over last five years so worth noting for any signs of stable confidence on debut.
Dylan Thomas filly whose unraced dam is from a good NH family that includes Southfield Theatre and other good performers. Yard has occasional bumper winners but newcomers usually improve for the experience.

Forecasts

Beholden (4/6), Chaztara (7/2), Mrs Thatcher (7/1), Southfield Megan (8/1), Edward Blue (12/1), Presenting Yeats (28/1), Little Jessture (40/1), Dark Storm (80/1), Ivorsalegend (150/1)

Verdict

There was quite a lot to like about the way BEHOLDEN won on debut over C&D earlier this month and thogh he has no easy task conceding weight all round he may prove good enough to maintain his unbeaten record. With her stable going great guns of late newcomer Chaztara might prove the biggest danger to the selection. She's bred for this game and a bold show would not surprise first time out. Mrs Thatcher and Southfield Megan are other newcomers worth noting for market support, while of those with previous experience Presenting Yeats has a decent pedigree and ran better than his finishing position indicates when 11th on debut at Wincanton in January.
  1. Beholden
  2. Chaztara
  3. Presenting Yeats
