Left Tim Easterby after back-to-back wins at Redcar (both 1m) and changed hands for 25,000gns soon after. Makes his debut for this trainer today, has a very good record when fresh and acts on any ground. Contender despite a career-high mark.
Triple winner over 6f-7f on good to soft/good to firm ground, though hasn't scored since September 2018. Has been building nicely in three good efforts this season, and wasn't beaten far from this mark at Yarmouth last time. Player.
Easily won a Windsor novice event (6f, good to firm) under a penalty last year, and bettered that when going close next time over C&D on her handicap debut. Now 6lb lower after four successive defeats but a big player if cheekpieces help revive him.
Couldn't manage to get her nose in front for either Ralph Beckett or James Fanshawe, but obliged on her debut for this trainer and has won three more since, including at Chelmsford (7f, AW) last time. Now needs to transfer that form to turf.
Showed a good attitude to score at York (7f, soft) last October. Was too free on his handicap debut last month, but the hood helped him to a ready win at Kempton last time. 6lb penalty here, but a big player nonetheless.
Ran with credit in all three starts last season, despite not winning (went close here over 6f). Had wind surgery and a long break since then, so has to prove he can kick on again on his handicap debut, from a mark that looks fair.
Prolific winner, mostly on turf and over this trip. Acts on any ground. 4lb lower here than his most recent win last season, when with Stuart Williams. Respectable stable debut at Newbury last time, but more needed in this grade.
Dual 1m winner at Chelmsford (AW) and has so far shown much more in that sphere than on his three previous turf starts. This is a tough race in which to try to rewrite that record.
6f winner on the Rowley course on debut in May 2019 and showed similar form in two further tough assignments. Didn't do his chance much good when keen at Haydock last time, so his 1½L fourth may need marking up. Since gelded. Not ruled out.
Showed improved form on her second juvenile start to score over C&D (good to firm) last August. Made the frame when 3lb higher on her nursery debut at Newcastle in November, but held at Doncaster latest. Needs to bounce back.
Debut winner here over 6f (good) in a fillies' maiden 13-months ago, when with Ed Vaughan. Has been way below that level in five more starts, the last two since joining this trainer. Can only watch at present.
Forecasts
Al Namir (9/5), Al Rufaa (11/4), Zap (6/1), Dancinginthewoods (10/1), Give It Some Teddy (11/1), Royal Dynasty (14/1), Ultra Violet (20/1), Swift Approval (25/1), Angel Of Delight (25/1), Philamundo (28/1), Drummond Warrior (50/1)
Give It Some Teddy has already been an admirable performer when with Tim Easterby and despite a career-high mark, his record when fresh suggests he could go very close to completing a hat-trick on his first run for Stuart Williams. However, he may be vulnerable to AL RUFAA, who has youth on his side, is due to go up another 6lb in the handicap, and is taken to defy a penalty. Zap and Drummond Warrior should both be on the premises, while neither Dancinginthewoods and Angel Of Delight are written off.
- Al Rufaa
- Give It Some Teddy
- Drummond Warrior
