Took a similar weak event (well supported) at Bath (5,7f, firm) four days ago to get off the mark at the 11th attempt. Didn't need to improve on his previous form, ought to once again be involved here if the quick turnaround doesn't leave a mark.
Proved herself capable of winning frail contests like this last year when taking a couple of low-grade 6f-7f handicaps at Chelmsford and Brighton. Scored again in that sort of grade last time at Ripon (5f), should be better suited by return to 6f.
0-8 at Yarmouth (only very modest form), remains a maiden after 14 starts. Both starts this season have come here in low-grade handicaps over 7f-1m, need the run first time, not disgraced in first-time blinkers latest start, not without a chance.
His two latest starts have more than hinted that he is capable of taking a contest like this. Third over C&D last time in a modest handicap, travelled strongly, not disgraced behind one who looked better than the grade, will give a good account.
One of several maidens in the field although she is lightly-raced for her age, has less blemishes on her career record. Would have a chance if she could repeat her Kempton 7f second (penultimate start), poor last time on the AW, back on turf at 6f.
Veteran in Flat terms but on a fair losing sequence having last won over a year ago pulling off a 33-1 shock at Thirsk (5f, good) in a 0-60 handicap. Not experienced a good spell this year, undone last time by flag start/inexperienced rider.
Visor on for first-time after making no impression on stable debut at Wolverhampton (6.1f, slow) returning from seven months off. Made very little impact for previous yard (Amy Murphy), hard to recommend on evidence so far.
Last in all three minor-maiden events over 5f-6f and looks of extremely limited ability. Yet to try handicaps this perhaps a stepping stone to that path, hard to muster any enthusiasm for his chance.
One of six winners in the field his sole success coming this year at Chelmsford (7f, slow) in a low-grade handicap from just out of the weights. Easy to back when last/next seen, ran poorly (went with little fluency), not hard to have doubts.
Fared no better back from a break last time in first-time cheekpieces on handicap debut and still to beat a rival after four starts. Tries 6f for the second time with blinkers now applied for the first-time, others far more persuasive.
Hardly screaming out as a winner waiting to happen from her exploits in three minor/maiden events at up to 7f. Well held on all three AW starts now makes the switch to turf, the positive being the booking of the champion jockey.
Achieved very little over C&D last time returning from nine-months away from any action, pulling hard and beating just one home. Easily opposed on the form he's shown so far even at this modest/lowly level.
Had shown some mild promise in his first two starts for this yard on the AW (Polytrack/Tapeta) over 7f, finishing second both times (once in first-time cheekpieces). Poor last time on turf over 1m (weak in market), may be something like this in him.

Forecasts
Bold Decision (6/4), Independence Day (2/1), Wrath Of Hector (7/1), Wild Flower (8/1), Secret Equity (10/1), Valley Belle (12/1), Approve The Dream (14/1), Fluttershy (25/1), Laurentia (28/1), Mr Kodi (33/1), Monarch Maid (33/1), Potters Question (80/1), The Simple Truth (100/1), Scorpio's Dream (125/1), Dark Side Prince (125/1)
A big field but it’s not hard to whittle this down to a few that have a chance with solid profiles few and far between. Bold Decision the most recent winner in the field has to be of interest after his Bath handicap success and he looks the main danger to C&D third INDEPENDENCE DAY. He’s been in fair form since racing resumed running a sound race over C&D last time a repeat of which would be good enough to win this modest affair. Wild Flower the other last time out scorer in the field can’t be ignored with the well weighted (on official figures) Approve The Dream and first-time blinkered Wrath Of Hector a couple of others who should have a part to play.
- Independence Day
- Bold Decision
- Wild Flower
