Only beaten by a fellow newcomer on debut at Leicester (6f, good) with the trip looking in the short side judged on pedigree, Kept to 6f for his second run in a weaker event he sets the standard, has a good chance of going one better than last time.
From a yard that have plenty of debut 2yo winners but looked very inexperienced on his initial effort at Wolverhampton (5.1f, slow). Went with little fluency on that occasion, should know more here, in good hands, step up to 6f should help.
Friendless in the market on his debut (100-1) at Chelmsford (7f, slow) he made an unpromising start to his career finishing last of eight. Hard to see him making much more of an impact here for a yard no known for their 2yo runners.
Yard 1-47 with 2yo newcomers (last five years); first foal, dam unraced half-sister to smart 2yo 7f-8.5f winner (stays further) Persian Moon. Worth a market check given the lack of strength in depth in this contest.
Newcomer, third foal, dam 2yo 7f winner who stayed 1m2f. Pedigree makes some appeal, only the second 2yo runner ever for the yard, gelded for debut, best watched unless there are positive market vibes.
Newcomer, £10,000 yearling, fourth foal, half-sister to three winners including winner up to 6f Awsaaf and 2yo 7f winner Annecy, dam 2-y-o 6f winner. Yard yet to get going with their 2yo's this year but have a fair record with their debutantes.

This looks a good chance for SOLDIER LIONS to go one better than his Leicester debut with some experience now under his belt. That form sets the standard here in a race that doesn’t look too exacting although he will probably be suited by 7f plus in time. High Applause was all at sea on his Wolverhampton debut but is in good hands and with him being in such good hands it won’t be surprise to see him come on for that run stepped up to 6f on turf. The newcomers are a mixed bunch mostly from stables not known for their juveniles, Alicestar looking the best on pedigree.
