Well held in a bumper and two maidens since a belated start to his career last month. None of that form gives him any chance here, unless he can make a big improvement.
€5,000 yearling; €7,000 2yo; first foal; dam French 1m1½f winning half-sister to Swedish 1m1f-1m7f winner Dreams Cape. Trainer 1-52 with his 3yos over the past five seasons, so perhaps this gelding is best watched on debut.

Progressive son of Galileo who went close to winning a Leopardstown maiden (1m2f, good to firm) last month, and then stayed on strongly for third in the Irish Derby last time. Has to be the one to beat based on that latter run.

Beaten just ½L here (7f, good) on debut last September, and while he has run with some credit on both starts at the Curragh in the last month, he has taken a couple of backward steps. Can't write him off, but does need to get back on track.

Closely related to 1m2f winner Angel's Story and half-brother to four winners, the best of whom is Donboyne Express. Dam once-raced half-sister to Oaks winner Love Divine. Lovely pedigree. Trainer 10% with 3yos over five seasons.

Brother to winners Circling (US 1m½f stakes/Irish 1m2f) and Easter Lily (7f 2yo/1m2f Listed); dam 6f 2yo Listed winner. Trainer 5% with 3yos over five seasons. Precautionary market check looks prudent.

Zoffany colt out of a Cape Cross mare. 11-2 and received some support ahead of his debut at the Curragh (1m2f, good; tongue-tied) last month, when never a factor and beaten a distance. Much more needed.

Was a well beaten favourite on his only juvenile start at Leopardstown (7f, good/yld) 14-months ago. Expectations appeared to be lower when 20-1 on last month's reappearance at the Curragh (1m2f, good to firm), when held. Much more needed.

14-1 and never got into the argument on debut at the Curragh (1m2f, good) last month. Probably capable of a fair bit better, but can only watch until we see evidence of that.

Forecasts

Dawn Patrol (1/8), Order Of Australia (2/1), Daylight Come (11/2), Chiricahua (6/1), Ashtarak (14/1), Hotspur Harry (20/1), King Arthurs Sword (22/1), Musahaba (25/1), Eagle's Flight (25/1), Empire Street (33/1), Baltinglass Hill (66/1), Muyam Spirit (66/1), Dusty Winds (125/1)

Verdict

Aidan O'Brien holds the key to this and it is hard to look past Irish Derby third DAWN PATROL, who gets the vote ahead of the stablemate he has already beaten twice, Order Of Australia. Ashatarak can probably come home next, while Daylight Come may challenge him for that spot in he can return to form.
  1. Dawn Patrol
  2. Order Of Australia
  3. Ashtarak
