Not won on turf since victorious over C&D at around this time last year. Made a winning return to action on the AW at Wolverhampton (1m; standard) in June but out of form in two subsequent starts. Others look better treated.
Just 1lb above the mark he won off at this track over 6f in September. That was his second course win, and while he didn't fully threaten at Wolverhampton (6f; standard) he may well improve for the run.
Yet to win in 13 starts, but he is a consistent sort who has failed to finish out of the first three the last twice. Only beaten a neck at Ayr (7f; good) last week, and is off just a 1lb higher mark now.
In and out of form since making a winning handicap debut almost two years ago. However, he has represented himself well in defeat the last twice, finishing fourth on each occasion. Place claims once more if in similar form.
12lb below last winning mark and was in consistent enough form on the AW at Newcastle at the start of the year. However, suffered trouble in-running on his seasonal reappearance at Redcar (1m; good to firm) last month so not one to dismiss just yet.
Not completely disgraced on second start in handicap company at Lingfield (6f; standard to slow) when last seen. Although he hasn't offered much promise overall in short career so far, he could improve for the step up to 7f.
Not improved for the change of scenery since joining this yard. Tailed off at Haydock (7f; soft) when last seen and subsequently dropped 4lb by the handicapper. Cannot be recommended given current form he is in so look elsewhere.
In and out of form of late. More was expected of him over C&D last time, after he previously finished second at Thirsk (7f; good) on seasonal debut. May be dangerous to fully dismiss if rediscovering the form of his C&D win in September.
Failed to justify favouritism (100-30f) when slammed by an impressive nine-length winner who hasn't advertised the form too well since. That was still his best effort for some time, and he has to have a part to play if able to back it up.
One of the more lightly raced contenders. Posted a career-best when beaten a head in a photo-finish at Ayr (7f; good) recently. Definitely been more competitive since switched to handicaps. Must be on the scene again given progressive profile.
Sole career success came over C&D last June. 3lb below that mark now, and there were signs of a return to form when he finished fourth over C&D when last seen. Not one to write off, and a market check is strongly advised.
Regained the winning thread when successful over C&D at the start of the month. Runner-up has since boosted the form. He is now 2-3 overall at this track, with both career victories having been achieved here and can make a bold bid to follow up.
Showed glimpses of promise last autumn, including when third over C&D. Not been able to build upon that though, and he is on a long losing run at present. Hard to draw any positives from recent effort at Thirsk (7f; good) when down the field.
Modest strike rate on turf of just 1-29. Gone off the boil the last thrice since winning at Newcastle (1m; standard) in October. Failed to show any enthusiasm in defeat the last twice since returning to the track. Best watched for now.

Poet's Magic (10/3), Our Dave (9/2), Ventura Rascal (8/1), Bumbledom (8/1), Stronsay (9/1), Mango Chutney (9/1), Sfumato (10/1), Mr Strutter (11/1), Uncle Charlie (11/1), Christmas Night (16/1), Kodimoor (16/1), Mudawwan (33/1), Kilconquhar (33/1), Rebel State (50/1), Mac Mccarthy (100/1)
A tricky puzzle to solve, with connections of Poet's Magic surely tearing their hair out after the 13-race maiden somehow managed to finish second at Ayr. His solid profile of late must give him solid place claims once again though. Similar comments apply to the more unexposed Ventura Rascal who is getting better all the time and was narrowly denied when second best in a photo-finish last week. That was a career-best and there should be more to come again. However, the horse who beat him finished second over C&D behind OUR DAVE at the start of the month & that horse is taken to follow up off 4lb higher as he looks value for more than the winning margin would suggest.
