Ended long losing run to win a handicap over C&D on his first run back from a short break. This is a weaker grade so perhaps he may be able to go in again for a stable enjoying a 25% strike-rate over the last 14 days.

Beaten a long way on seasonal debut at Kempton (7f; standard to slow) when last of nine. Winless in eight starts and not one piece of her form would entitle her to go close so a watching brief should be maintained for now.

Unimpressive strike rate of just 2-44. In quiet form towards the backend of 2019 and now makes seasonal reappearance after a 288-day break. Yard without a winner for 29 days (10 runners during that time).

Only had two starts at this trip and he wasn't beaten far into fourth on his penultimate start at Chelmsford (1m; standard). Not as good when last seen, but could get back on track returned to this trip.

Pretty inconsistent lately, and she took a backwards step over C&D last week when ninth of 12 after previously finishing third to an impressive winner at Lingfield (7f; good). Others have stronger claims and look less risky.

Cannot be taken seriously given he has failed to beat a single rival in any of his previous four starts, including over C&D last time out when he was tailed off. Yard in quiet form too so he is opposed with confidence.

Career-best last time when dropped back to 1m to be beaten just under a length at Kempton (1m; standard to slow) just seven days ago. Major player if she is able to back that up turned out quickly.

Six-race maiden. Frustrating she was not able to build upon promising third on her penultimate start at Chepstow (7f; good) when only sixth last time out at that same venue. However, the soft ground may have been to blame. Worth another chance.

Ran here twice towards the end of last season, finishing last on each occasion over 1m/5f. Been sent off at big prices on all four career starts, and unlikely to see her make much of an impact on return from 280-day break.

0-7. Fifth behind the in-form Le Reveur at Chepstow (7f; soft) last month but never looked a danger at any stage of the race. Stepped up to 1m now but looks vulnerable to less exposed sorts.

Only beaten one rival in two starts since returning to action this season for new stable. Suspicion they are unsure as to what his optimum trip is given he was stepped up from 6f to 1m2f last time and now tries 1m. Look elsewhere.

Not beaten far on her seasonal reappearance when fourth at Kempton (7f; standard to slow) behind Le Reveur (2nd) who has since gone on to frank the form twice. That was her best effort yet. Solid player if backing it up.

Verdict

After he returned to form to win a handicap over C&D last week, Air Of York is afforded maximum respect as he bids to quickly follow up. This is actually a slight drop in class which further adds to his claims, but he will do well to concede effectively 15lb to ALEZAN. The selection showed improved form for the drop in trip when narrowly beaten on the AW last week. He remains unexposed, especially at this trip, and can go one better to get off the mark at the sixth time of asking. Penny Diamond holds a similar sort of profile having had just six career stars, and she took a notable step forward when fourth at Kempton in a race which has since had the form boosted.
