Horse A-Z
Poor form in three previous bumpers and has missed almost two years since Listowel run in September 2018; starts out for new handler with market the only guide.
Much-improved on seasonal bow/second start when fifth of 14 in a Bellewstown this month in first-time tongue-tie; outrunning odds of 33-1. Bit more need to score however.
Robin Des Pres gelding. Dam, ran once over hurdles/once in bumper, half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser (2m-3m winner) Wheresben. Mixed bag in point-to-points but runner-up last time out in that sphere so worth a look on rules bow.

£7,000 three-year-old, resold €4,000. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Brave Out. Dam unraced half-sister to fairly useful hurdler Rev It Up. Has winning form in point-to-points.
Well Chief gelding, outran SP of 33-1 when fourth last month at Kilbeggan (2m4f, good) on debut in a bumper, only beaten 6¼L and didn't get the easiest of passages; can do better.

Improving with each start, runner-up at Navan (2m, heavy; 5-1) in March, his second time filling that position. Extra yardage here looks favourable and Jamie Codd takes over. Player.
€20,000 three-year-old, Mahler gelding. Half-brother to bumper winner/fair hurdler Nicely Indeed and winning hurdler/chaser Millen Dollar Man. Placed on second point-to-point start and should be involved on rules bow.

Mahler gelding out of a Mister Mat mare; 25-1 fourth on debut in a Sligo bumper (2m2f, good to firm) 12 months ago (beaten 3½L); off since and market should be revealing ahead of this return.
Pulled up in all three point-to-points and twice tailed off in bumpers back in the spring; doesn't make much appeal at this point in time.

9/2
Failed to complete in two point-to-points but decent start in this sphere where second at Roscommon (2m, good to yielding; 14-1) last month behind a Willie Mullins hotpot. Should be involved at the business end if building on that promising start.

Daughter of Teofilo out of a Pivotal mare. Cost £2,000 as a four-year-old. Well beaten in three bumper starts since her debut at Wexford 12 months ago.

Horse silk
9/1
13,000 gns three-year-old, Australia gelding. Half-brother to three winners on the Flat, including useful 5f/6f winner Pennsylvania Dutch. Dam 7f winner. Wears tongue strap on debut.

Forecasts

Jimmy Jimmy (4/5), Bavarian Girl (9/2), Florey Spud (5/1), The Boys In Blue (9/1), Fill The Tank (14/1), Mahlers Dollar (18/1), Beagh Castle (20/1), Orcadian Symphony (33/1), Champions Hill (33/1), Ready For Takeoff (150/1), Game Bird (150/1), Balinaboola Jer (200/1)

Verdict

There has to be a massive chance that Gordon Elliott and Jamie Codd can land both closing bumpers, with JIMMY JIMMY already having twice finished second in bumpers at Fairyhouse and Navan. He meets better ground today and should also be suited the longer trip, given the way he stuck to the task last time out in defeat. Bavarian Girl was second to a Mullins jolly on debut and should have place claims along with Florey Spud while Orcadian Symphony and Mahlers Dollar are worth noting in the betting.
  1. Jimmy Jimmy
  2. Bavarian Girl
  3. Florey Spud
