Hamilton 6f winner last year (beating Epeius, runs in 1.50) off 1lb higher in a 0-75 handicap, found it tough to recapture that form. Without his usual hood on stable/seasonal debut (Hamilton, 5f), ran well, looks one to be interested in again.
C&D winner, remains his only victory with a profile that looks very uneven throughout his handicap career at up to 7f. Took a step back in the right direction last time (well positioned to do so) over 6f at Thirsk, entitled to come on for that run.
Sprang a 50-1 shock at Doncaster (6f, good/soft) to get off the mark after a nine-month break, did well to reel in one who gained a break on the field. Up 6lb, her pedigree suggests she'll stay further, another bold bid should be anticipated.
Goes into handicaps after just two runs (exploiting the temporary rules) over the shortest trip she's tried. Still looked inexperienced at Musselburgh 7.2f last time, may find this all happening too quickly today, not one with a strong profile.
Gained his only win so far on handicap debut at Newcastle seemingly appreciating the step up to 7f. Respectable efforts since without looking as though he's threatening to win again, cheekpieces now left off, others persuade more.
Turf debut, second run back from a wind op having been lightly-raced so far, shaped as if needing the run on handicap debut last time (had eight months off). Based on her last two starts this 6f trip looks on the short side, best watched.
Mostly an AW sort these days and well held on a rare turf start last time at Catterick (6f, good) behind Prissy Missy (runs in 1.50). Very little response to pressure on that occasion and with a 0-10 turf record not hard to ignore in this contest.
Chased home one on a roll in Bal Mal at Musselburgh last time over 5f (second try at that trip), shaping well and looking as though she would interest in the future. Stays 7f so this 6f may suit ideally off just a 1lb higher mark, leading prospect.
Both her course wins have come over 5f with her 6f successes all having come on the AW (Newcastle). Looked unfortunate not to go close over C&D last time (denied a clear run), finishing with running left, could get involved in this better race.
Out of the weights again and was last time when running one of her better races over C&D. Yet to win though and this is a tougher contest than she contested last time, often starts slowly, needs several to falter to gain her first win.
Forecasts
My Dandy Doc (10/3), Kolossus (7/2), Angels Faces (7/2), Jordan Electrics (5/1), Star Cracker (9/1), Grace And Virtue (12/1), Castlehill Retreat (12/1), Laoise (28/1), Loulin (33/1), Eveaaj (50/1)
Like the first division this could well go the way of a 3yo as they have two strong candidates amongst their ranks with MY DANDY DOC gaining a narrow vote as the suggestion. Her win at Doncaster was clearly a surprise hence the 50-1 SP but it didn’t look a fluke and the 6lb rise in the weights may not stop her following up. Angels Faces chased home the progressive Bal Mal at Musselburgh last time and will be suited by this return to 6f, she looks the main danger. The older brigade look a little up against it to contain those two 3yo’s but both Jordan Electrics and Star Cracker will ensure that they don’t have it all their own way.
- My Dandy Doc
- Angels Faces
