Approaching the veteran stage but still a fair chaser on her day; finished third in a better race than this back from a break at Uttoxeter (3m2f, good) last time. That signalled a return to form, a repeat if that would see her go close.
Not won for over three years and not getting any younger either although he does have a plummeting mark to work with. Well below form when last seen under Rules, beaten 50L in point-to-point in March (latest start), not one to rely on.
Yet to win under Rules (1-4 between the flags), was a fair maiden hurdler in his time when with Alan King. Undergone numerous trainer changes, fared relatively well on debut for this yard at Bangor (3m, good), potentially well handicapped.
Only modest over fences these days but often seen at his best around here (seven time course winner), ran one of his lesser races over (2m4f, good) here last time. Pulled up after mid-race mistakes, makes a quick return, hard to trust.
Form over the past few years liberally interspersed with breaks; not won since November 2017 in an uncompetitive affair. Typically rather lack lustre when last seen, back from a further break, fails to inspire much confidence.
Generally saves his best for Catterick (only legitimate chase win came there), overall record over fences reads 1-23. In good heart for most of last season (multiple placed efforts, lost one race in Stewards Room), decent mark if on a going day.
Course win came over hurdles (3m); chase form modest at best (1-34) with a fair few placed efforts. Offered little over hurdles here when last seen in testing conditions, returns from a break, often promises more than he delivers, comes with risks.
Poor form over hurdles a switch to handicaps not seeing any progress, quickly sent chasing. Only 9-1 on chasing debut over 2m4f here in a weak contest, shaped with some promise, may do better with that run tucked away, less convictions than most.
Poor maiden over obstacles having not shown any real form for a fair while, a wind op failing to induce even any mild improvement. Looked to have totally lost her way when faring no better than usual on her recent chase debut; a forlorn hope.

A particularly unedifying contest to start the card with plenty of negatives on offer. STILL BELIEVING still has the look of one who could be better than this grade having shaped well enough at Uttoxeter last time out in a race where the winner has since won again. A repeat of that run would see Evan Williams mare go close. Hidden Cargo is another who got back on track last time and he’s potentially well handicapped on some earlier form if he can hold things together. Paddling is capable of hitting the frame if he’s in the same form that he’s displayed round Catterick last winter with Glengar not out of this if he can build on his last outing here on the first day jumping resumed.
