Kempton maiden winner (1m, AW) last September, and has so far performed creditably in three subsequent handicaps without winning any. Was held at Kempton last time, but if back to the form of his penultimate run he'd have claims back up in trip.
Multiple Wolverhampton (AW) winner at up to 1m1½f. 0-6 on turf, but showed he can be effective on it when less than 2L third here last month (1m, good). Up 1lb, and not ruled out.
Has produced a decent level of form and been relatively consistent thus far, without getting close to winning. Another respectable run on his reappearance here last month (C&D, good to firm), but more needed from 1lb lower.
Multiple 1m2f/1m4f winner including here last time out, and with a penchant for testing ground. That latest, comfortable, success has induced a 7lb rise, but that may not be enough to anchor him.
Sole turf win came on his second start back in 2017 (7f) and he has scored twice (7f/1m) on the AW since. Has run well on both AW and turf since returning from a break last month, acts on soft and should again be thereabouts.
Has only managed to get to the racecourse once since October 2018, so considering that his 5L third of 10 at Lingfield (1m, AW) in March last year wasn't a bad effort. However, has fitness to prove again after another absence.
1-22, her sole success coming in a Chepstow seller (1m2f, good) last September when with David Evans. Has proved herself competitive from this sort of mark in handicaps since, and is not ruled out on her stable debut.
Won a 5f Pontefract novice event (good to soft) on his second start as a juvenile. Hasn't been able to add to that. Effective over 1m-1m2f and was beaten just 1½L from this mark on his recent reappearance. Looks a contender.
Was showing improved form in the late summer last year, winning two of his last three starts, both over 1m2f at Beverley (inc. on soft). Handicapper hasn't raised him for the latter, so can't rule him out in this stronger race on his reappearance.
Not devoid of promise on a couple of occasions last season, but well held by Deinonychus here last time and needs cheekpieces to spark some significant improvement.
Forecasts
Deinonychus (10/3), Elegant Love (5/1), Jack D'Or (6/1), Carey Street (7/1), San Sebastian (7/1), Kaser (15/2), Imajorblush (12/1), Brutalab (12/1), Prince Llyr (18/1), Al Ozzdi (28/1)
Similar to the first division of this race, there are few in this field who can be confidently ruled out, but given that he gets his favoured slow ground again, DEINONYCHUS is selected to defy a 7lb rise for his recent C&D success and add another. Al Ozzdi, Elegant Love and Carey Street could all emerge as dangers, while Prince Llyr is on a dangerous mark if he retains his former abiity.
- Deinonychus
- Al Ozzdi
- Elegant Love
