Picks up a 5lb penalty for a 3L success over C&D last week; ran on strongly that day and created the impression extra weight won't be too much of an issue. That was his first win on turf but no surprise to see him follow up if in the same mood.
Last win came in a classified claimer at Beverley last August but there were encouraging signs when he finished second at Yarmouth on his seasonal debut 13 days ago; runs from the same mark and can again go close.
The trainer does well here but the gelding's shown very little in three starts since joining the yard and needs to improve in leaps and bounds now he's switched to turf. (Wears a tongue tie and this is only his second start since a wind operation.)
Likes to make the running and can be a tough nut to crack when he gets his own way. He'd have place claims if able to dig a little deeper than he did when pressed last time out but his tendency to throw in the towel is a concern.
Hard to put a value on his form in the dependency of Jersey but the gelding's three most recent starts in mainland UK were modest displays on the AW; and in truth, he's shown little of consequence. Needs to improve now back on turf and up in trip.
Posted a solid effort back on turf last time out and been given a chance now she's been dropped 2lb in the handicap; best previous efforts on this type of surface have been on firm going; so any hint of soft would be a step into the unknown.
Been in decline over the last couple of years; won a bottom rung handicap over 7f at Kempton in January but generally struggled since. Likes Chepstow but a further negative that he has form to reverse with In The Cove; others more convincing.
Only shown the odd glimpse of ability and not hard to see why she's now on a career lowest mark. She's still a maiden and looks one to be wary of as she tries this trip for the first time. (This is only her second start for her current yard.)
Ran above expectations over 6f here a fortnight ago so possible the mare can give a good account of herself; but it's worth bearing in mind that she's 0-11 and never started a race at odds below 28/1 before acting on any speculative hunches.

Forecasts
In The Cove (1/1), Mad Endeavour (4/1), Blessed To Empress (5/1), Inner Circle (11/2), Rivas Rob Roy (13/2), Mister Dependable (10/1), Man Of The Sea (28/1), Crimson Princess (28/1), Triple First (28/1), Satchville Flyer (40/1)
IN THE COVE is presented with a good opportunity to follow up last week's C&D success as this really does lack strength-in-depth and his 5lb penalty might not be enough to peg him back in this company. Inner Circle is well handicapped on past form and can also go close if able to step things up a couple of notches after a near miss at Yarmouth on his recent seasonal return. Rivas Rob Roy will be a threat of he's allowed a soft lead, while Blessed To Empress and Mad Endeavour also have chances at this level and they complete the shortlist.
