Made all over C&D last month and held on when under pressure near the finish; faded under a penalty at Hamilton latest but has been on the ball since joining her current yard and harsh to say she can't raise her game once more. Worth considering.
Finished around 1L behind David's Beauty at Beverley last month and has a reasonable chance of reversing the form on the revised terms. The fitting of a visor can help and notable he's also gone well for today's 7lb claimer before now; chance.
Less exposed than most but has achieved very little since stepping into handicap company and is yet to start a race of this nature at single figure odds. Not hard to overlook on this occasion.
C&D winner on his penultimate outing and not disgraced when second at Leicester 10 days ago. Has some decent course form to his name and certainly in good enough form to merit serious consideration if he's supported in the betting.
A modest handicapper that is 0-19 on turf and the AW; dropping to the minimum trip didn't really work out for the gelding at Bath at the start of July but possible the visor will spark him into life; needs a big improvement.
Losing sequence stretches to 18 races and he's generally been disappointing over the last couple of turf and AW seasons. Acts well here but Bath is his favoured hunting ground; others more appealing on recent evidence.
Runs for a trainer with a canny touch with sprinters when he gets the right ammunition; she's shown some ability since stepping into handicaps and ran her best race to date when second over C&D last month. Unexposed and dangerous to underrate.
Not made much progress in four previous starts; including when a well held fifth of 11 at Bath last week. She's still learning so there's a possibility of more to come; too much guesswork to recommend strong support given the evidence available.
Shown precious little in any of her four previous starts and a rating of just 38 tells its own story; looks one to swerve from a betting point of view.
Forecasts
David's Beauty (9/4), Cool Strutter (10/3), Lady Florence (4/1), Valentino Sunrise (7/1), Grandstand (15/2), Sir Gordon (14/1), Edge Of The Bay (20/1), Jaganory (28/1), Hot Poppy (100/1)
The fitting of a visor could be extra ingredient needed for VALENTINO SUNRISE to finally get back to winning way. He's closely matched with David's Beauty judging by their encounter at Beverley last month but he's favoured on these terms and, with a 7lb claimer booked to take the ride, his chance, on a literal reading of the weights, is strongly enhanced. Cool Strutter is another that is effective at this particular course and merits a place high up on the shortlist. Lady Florence could be the surprise package of the race and any signs of strong support in the betting would be dangerous to ignore.
- Valentino Sunrise
- David's Beauty
- Lady Florence
