Last year's winner Retirement Beckons has dropped a couple of significant hints that he's capable of repeating his success of twelve months ago and is worth a saver at least in this weak finale. However, he's not the most consistent individual and it might be prudent to factor in a second option to run for you against the field. Recent Thirsk winner TARNHELM fits the bill as a worthy sidekick to consider. The mare lost ground at the start when fourth at Musselburgh last time out but finished that race well enough to suggest she's still worth another chance. Sir Havelock and Got The T Shirt are others to bear in mind if they are supported in the betting ring.
