Looking very well handicapped these days and found some of his better form when a close third at Lingfield on latest start. Has a C&D win to his name, and if they go a good pace up front, so much the better for his chance late on.
Winner of two of his five starts to date, but below par effort when made favourite at Lingfield last time, finished off weakly and has ground to make up on Eljaddaaf on that. Possible he can bounce back but faces competiton for the lead.
Showed some form over 5f/6f last year but was often too keen for his own good, and he's going to need to settle better to see this 7f out. Likely to need the run after an absence too.
Ready winner when dropped to 6f here in March and ran respectably on reappearance over C&D here last month, weakening late. Should come on for that and given liking for this track, cannot be discounted.
Looked adifferent horse when scoring at Leicester on latest start, tanked way through race and found plenty for pressure at the business end. Up 5lb for that and new surface to cntend with but a surprise if that's as good as he is. Big chance here.
Two wins in 14 starts but one of them was over this C&D, so has that going for him. Bit disappointing on reappearance at Newmarket last month and might still be a bit high in the handicap. Others preferred.
Open to improvement after just the five starts and she ran a cracker from the front here last time, only worn down late and keeping on well. Inexperienced jockey on board but she's going the right way, and another good run could be on the cards.
Knows where the winning line is, victorious in three of her last five starts and was a C&D winner last time, finding plenty for pressure. Never wins by far so handicapper may not have got hold of her yet, and good attitude alone counts for plenty.
Won a maiden at Windsor last July and turned in best effort to date on the figures when third over C&D last time out, weakening late. May be approaching peak fitness now and he seems to be improving, so is one to be interested in here.
C&D winner from a 3lb higher mark last year but he's a tricky one to catch right, as a record of three wins in 29 starts shows. Solid effort on latest start and he is coming back to a workable mark so not discounted, but has risks.
Veteran wins in his turn and conditions fine tonight, but last two victories have come in a lesser grade than this and he may need a small class drop before getting back on the scoresheet. Draw not ideal either and others preferred.
Game and genuine mare that wins her share and she was successful again over C&D last time out. 6lb rise and in a better race tonight demands more from her, but she will try hard, and has a decent draw to work from.
Forecasts
Rum Baba (4/1), Quick Breath (9/2), Youthful (9/2), Eljaddaaf (17/2), Louis Treize (10/1), Healing Power (11/1), Soar Above (12/1), Sonnet Rose (12/1), Crystal Casque (14/1), May Sonic (18/1), La Maquina (25/1), Nezar (40/1)
CRYSTAL CASQUE scores highly for her attitude and her good habit of winning races makes her figure highly here. The handicapper keeps asking her for a bit more but she may well have it left in her locker, and at a track she likes, can score again. Youthful looks a huge danger after his Leicester win and if transferring that form to this different surface, looks the danger. Rum Baba should be cherry ripe now and can take a hand, and no doubt the consistent Sonnet Rose will do her best. Eljaddaaf can make his presence felt late if the leaders go too quickly.
- Crystal Casque
- Youthful
- Rum Baba
