Just edged out on debut at Goodwood (7f, good/firm), and duly built on that when scoring by 2L from Sarsaparilla in a C&D novice last time. Has more to offer, and respected despite a penalty.

Well held on Newmarket debut, but improved when a respectable fourth of 7 to Ville de Grace over 6f here last time. May do better yet, but she will have to if she's to score here.

Kept on quite well when 2½L third of 7 to Ville de Grace over 6f on her racecourse bow, and holds Angels Will Rise on that form. Not dismissed assuming she makes normal progress from that initial effort.
By Teofilo, and a granddaughter of connections' unbeaten Fillies' Mile winner White Moonstone, out of a 7f winner. Yard slow to hit full stride with its juveniles in 2020, but pedigree alone makes this newcomer of significant interest.

By Sea The Moon out of a useful 1m-1½m winner. Showed a bit on debut at Chepstow 12 days ago, and is the type to do better in the fullness of time.

Pedigree a mix of speed and stamina. Unfancied when 6¼L last of 7 to Basilicata over C&D on debut, left behind when tempo increased in the straight. Looks to have plenty on her plate again.
By speed influence Showcasing, but dam won over 1m as a 2-y-o, and she's related to winners at further. Yard's juveniles have yet to make an impact, and she's liable to be all the better for this initial experience.

Better than the result on debut at Newmarket, and improved when when 2L fourth of 14 to Rishworthian in a 6f novice at Thirsk last time. Gives the impression 7f will suit better, and is one to take seriously as a result.

Forecasts

Basilicata (11/8), Wispering Angel (3/1), Last Sunset (15/2), Emulate Rose (10/1), Angels Will Rise (11/1), Spring Time Bay (16/1), Valorant (16/1), Miss Paloma (40/1)

Verdict

Basilicata had the run of things when scoring over C&D last time, and may just struggle to repeat that feat conceding 7lb to the promising WISPERING ANGEL, who should relish the step up from 6f. Last Sunset looks just best of the newcomers ahead of Valorant, although both come from yards which have yet to hit top gear with their two-year-old runners.
  1. Wispering Angel
  2. Basilicata
  3. Last Sunset
