Showed a glimmer of ability in a couple of bumpers, but was pulled up in both starts over hurdles last winter, so we can only take a watching brief this time.

Showed a bit of ability in a couple of mares' bumpers last summer, finishing second at both Uttoxeter and Worcester. Last of nine on her hurdles debut at Ludlow last November and not seen since. Could get involved if bouncing back.

Showed promise when third in two mares' bumpers, in the 2018-19 season, but had wind surgery after one more run. Was reported to have a breathing problem when beaten favourite on hurdles debut last November. Not easy to know what expect.
Was runner-up in a bumper when trained in France (1m7f, heavy) last October. Joined this trainer prior to her recent stable debut, when showing some promise to be 12L fourth at Uttoxter (2m4f, good). Can improve and go close.
Began quite promisingly here in a bumper last September, but was then beaten a long way in two attempts over hurdles. Can only watch until we see more from her.
Daughter of Presenting, out of a Flemensfirth mare. 20-1 market drifter on debut, when she was just pipped for second close home in a Chepstow bumper in March 2019. Longer trip could suit on her hurdles debut. Interesting.

Placed several times in handicap hurdles last year, from 2m-3m and was reasonably consistent, but just unable to raise the bar sufficiently to win. Not ruled out of the frame again, but hard to see her winning.

1m2f Flat winner in Ireland a couple of years ago and has run some good races over hurdles, though remains 0-9 in this discipline. Has changed hands since last seen in January and if able to run close to her best here she could pick up some money.

Won her sole point start in 2018 and has shown a decent level of form over hurdles, being a 3½L second to Epatante at Exeter last year, and a close second at Fakenham when last seen in January. Looks the one to beat.

Showed promise on her debut in a Bangor mares' bumper (good) last May, but pulled up on her only hurdles run so far at Wetherby last Boxing Day. Had a second wind operation since, and returns with tongue-tie fitted. Not ruled out if that helps.
Closely related to bumper/2m4f-3m1f hurdle/chase winner According To Trev and half-sister to three other winner, out of a once-raced sister to 2m3f-3m2f hurdle/chase winner Rosetown. Nice pedigree. Market check ahead of her debut.

1m4f AW Flat winner last year. Went close in a mares' juvenile hurdle at Fakenham last October. Has a recent Flat spin at Yarmouth and looks capable of picking up some prize money now back over hurdles. Cheekpieces go on.

Forecasts

Makety (11/8), Ellarna (6/1), Liffeydale Dreamer (8/1), Fleur Du Seuil (9/1), Belatrix Lestrange (9/1), Golden Emblem (9/1), Break The Rules (12/1), Miss Flying Fox (14/1), Jessica Rabbit (28/1), Missthecuddles (33/1), Forchena (50/1), Ballymilan (100/1)

Verdict

Although her second to Epatante may now look a little flattering, there is little doubt that MAKETY has the strongest hurdles form in this field and she is taken to confirm that with a win. Break The Rules and Golden Emblem are both interesting runners who could make an impact, while Bellatrix Lestrange, Liffeydale Dreamer and Miss Flying Fox are not ruled out of the money.

  3. Golden Emblem
