Dual Flat winner at up to 1m6f when with Mick Channon. Well held in five starts across both codes for this trainer and hard to recommend him here based on that form.
Placed in two of his four starts in France (both over hurdles at up to 2m2f). Has changed hands since last seen in February and makes his British debut here. If his official rating (123) is correct, then he should be a contender.
Multiple middle distance winner on the Flat who scored on his hurdles debut at Fakenham (2m, good) in March, and showed significant improvement when just held here recently. Looks a big player again if he can repeat or better that.
Has shown minor promise on the Flat, but little in two previous attempts over hurdles and looks very much up against it on his return to this code.
Was campaigned on that Flat from 7f-1m3f by Robin Brisland, showing only moderate form. Some evidence of stamina in his Flat pedigree, but can only watch on his debut for in this code and for this trainer.
Fell on his only point outing in February, and was eased by Richard Johnson after jinking right just after two out here on his hurdles debut recently. Hard to make a strong case for him until we have seen more.
Well beaten in all completed starts under both codes so far. At least managed to show some minor promise here earlier in the month, but was still beaten almost a distance. Can only watch.
1m2f Flat winner (good to firm) for Archie Watson this time last year, and produced several others placed efforts after that. Changed hands for 6,000gns in January and will need to improve on her stable/hurdles debut in this field.
Forecasts
Medalla De Oro (2/7), Doukarov (9/2), Billy Ray (9/1), Piano Stairs (12/1), Perfect Grace (20/1), Goldfox Grey (40/1), Test Valley (66/1), Harbour Sunrise (100/1)
While apportioning due respect to former French-trained Doukarov on his British debut, it isn't easy to get a handle on that form and the very solid selection looks to be MEDALLA DE ORO, who showed improved form here last time and is taken to go one better. Little else makes any serious appeal, but Flat winner Perfect Grace may have enough in the locker to pick up some prize money, and Piano Stairs may be able to show more.
