Excuses last time when making an awkward start and subsequently being hampered on first try at 1m. Respected for these connections though and is on a 4lb lower mark. Trainer has an eye-catching 27% strike-rate at this track.
Raced exclusively over 6f in maiden company last season without ever threatening. Now makes handicap debut as he goes up to 1m for the first time. Others look stronger, but interesting if there is some support for him in the market.
Lost his chance at the start when he reared and lost quite a few lengths. Did well to finish fourth, it was a marginal step forward from his reappearance effort and the runner-up has franked the form. Player if breaking on terms this time round.
Gone backwards the last twice after previously looking like he was beginning to get the hang of things at the start of the year. Drop back to 1m looks the right move but is beginning to look exposed after 11 starts.
Came out third-best in a photo-finish at Catterick (7f; good to soft). That reaffirmed the promise of her handicap debut effort on seasonal debut the time before. Only 2lb higher now so should definitely be involved once more.
Stepped up on previous efforts in novice company to just miss out on making the frame when entering handicap sphere at Leicester (1m; good). Hampered in closing stages of that contest so is worth another chance given her unexposed profile.
Impossible to recommend given how little he has shown in four race career so far. Was tailed off on handicap debut at Yarmouth (7f; good to firm) last month. Best watched.
Modest fifth of seven on handicap debut at Wolverhampton (1m; standard) when last seen in December. Now returns from 215-day break with plenty of questions to answer back on turf. Not one to be enthusiastic about.
Returns to 1m after failing to get seriously involved on first run in four months when midfield at Kempton (7f; standard to slow). This does not look as strong a contest on paper so he could sneak into the placings.
Eight-race maiden but despite finishing eight-length behind the front two, his most recent effort when third at Wolverhampton (7f; standard) was a definite step back in the right direction. Has to feature in this contest if in similar form.
Despite not troubling the front two, his sole run in a handicap three starts ago was a career best. Contested two novice events since then (well-beaten on each occasion), but return to this grade/trip offers hope.

Forecasts
Jaaneh (11/5), Alpine Mistral (4/1), Herbert Pocket (9/2), Susie Javea (5/1), Cool To Be A Cat (13/2), William Alexander (20/1), Fair Warning (25/1), Lord Chapelfield (33/1), Sea Willow (33/1), Ontheradar (40/1), Eileen's Magic (50/1), Dream Isle (100/1)
Given the impressive record her trainer has when sending runners to the 'Garden Racecourse', it would be foolish to dismiss Jaaneh who lost her chance at the start last time out but should still be involved off a 4lb lower mark after doing well to finish fifth. Susie Javea has posted a pair of solid efforts in defeat this season and has now been placed on three of her four handicap starts so has to enter calculations as do Ontheradar and Alpine Mistral. However, the one who looks the most likeliest winner is HERBERT POCKET. The selection blew his chance at the start when rearing last time so did well to finish fourth & the second has since boosted the form.
- Herbert Pocket
- Susie Javea
- Jaaneh
