Back to form in two starts last month, scoring over C&D on the last of them (soft ground). Looks rejuvenated after a break and despite a 7lb rise for that win, plenty to like about his chances in a weak-looking race.
Dropping quickly in the handicap but that's down to a series of moderate efforts, and he's still a maiden after 13 starts. Ground something of an unknown as well and others make more appeal.
Fairly consistent but only four wins in 49 starts shows you he's hard to catch right. Acts well with some cut though, and this track ought to suit, and given he looks more likely to run his race than a few, has place chances at worst.
Falling very quickly in the handicap but looks regressive and there was little to cheer about his form when last seen. Not raced since last November and will likely need the run.
C&D winner in heavy ground here last August, so won't mind if any more rain falls, and stays a bit further than this too; not seen since last October, which has to be a concern, but will handle conditions better than a few.
Would win this on the best of his old form but you've got to go back to 2017 to find the last time he got his head in front. Not raced since March and with no great record fresh, likely to need the run. Ground a concern too.

Found a bit of form last autumn to finish in the frame a couple of times but nothing much since then (outclassed over hurdles twice). This trip a bare minimum for him but handles some cut, and will be staying on when others have had enough.
Just two wins in 28 starts, last of those coming almost two years ago; likely conditions fine and there was just a glimmer of promise in two runs last month that he might be on the way back, and he could hit the frame.

Promise in two starts as a 2yo, placed on both occasions but then not seen for a year and little to shout about in four starts since then, two of them last month. May strip fitter now but you'd like to see more before getting involved.
No win in nine starts but better last two, beaten just under 3l by Global Exceed at Redcar last time and weighted to get a bit closer today. Slow ground would ask a new question but he might have a bit more to offer.
Was in good form around this time last year, C&D winner from a 6lb lower mark and also won in heavy ground at Ayr, so handles plenty of cut. Will come on for last month's reappearance run and could take a hand if so.
Just three wins in 46 starts shows you he's no win machine, but he did put in one of his better efforts aff a break at Doncaster earlier in month, a respectable fourth. Stays a bit further and handles ground with cut, so has a chance.

Not much pace up front in this, and it's not impossible Remmy D - who looks the likely pacemaker - could make all if he's fit after an absence. But the in-form SMEATON looks sure to be tracking him and can make his race fitness count late in the day. Guvenor's Choice is knocking on the door and should be able to take a hand in the finish. Retirement Beckons might need another run to put him straight but conditions are ideal for him, and he's capable of getting in the shake-up.
