C&D winner who reverted to turf for the first time in a year on return from short break & was beaten just half a length when runner-up at Thirsk (7f; good to soft). Mark is falling, but he did win over C&D off 2lb higher last year. Considered.
Chasing a hat-trick and backed as though defeat was out of the question (sent off 2-5f), but ran no sort of race when fourth (disqualified; rider failed to weigh in) at Thirsk (7f; good). Career high mark to defy but still lightly raced.
Unable to reproduce the form of his stable debut/reappearance second when down the field at Thirsk (6f; good to soft) just 11 days ago. Subsequently has a bit to prove now and is on a long losing run.
Step back in the right direction when placed over C&D last week. That was a hint at a return to form, and he could be well handicapped 3lb below the mark he scored off over 1m at this course in September.
Four of his nine career wins have came at this track, and despite the fact he ended last season in poor form, he held a similar profile before winning when fresh over C&D in 2018. Intriguing contender with that in mind. Shortlist material.
0-5 on turf. Failed to show any improvement for the switch of stables when last of 12 at Pontefract (1m; good) on return from an eight-month break. Could be well treated but will need to show more encouragement before faith is placed into him.
C&D winner last season, but that was off a 6lb higher mark. Looks vulnerable for win purposes and his seasonal reappearance effort did little to inspire confidence. Yard form also a negative so he has plenty to prove.
Maiden who makes seasonal/stable debut after 285-day break. Got better as the season went on last year, and was far from disgraced in competitive handicaps at Epsom. Should be competitive on that form and interesting if market speaks in her favour.
Better effort last time when only beaten a neck at Catterick (6f; good to soft). That was a definite step forward from what was a quiet display on his return from a short break, and he has won off higher marks before so has place claims at least.
Turned in a stinker when tailed off over 1m at this track on his seasonal return to action recently. Effort prior to that when signing off for 2019 was also below-par so is on a retrieval mission now.
Threatened to take advantage of reduced mark when third over 1m at this track. That was his most encouraging effort since he scored over C&D in September. If turning up in similar form he is well handicapped and will have a say.

There are a whole host in this line-up who have chances including the likes of How Bizzare, Lagenda and Highland Acclaim who all posted improved efforts when last seen and would have genuine claims if able to build on those runs. It would speak volumes if Poet's Magic was popular in the betting on her first run for new connections, as it would for the well-handicapped Jacob Black who has proven he can go well fresh in the past. A chance is taken on KUPA RIVER who was only narrowly denied last time and has solid claims off a mark 2lb below the one he won off over C&D last year.
