Last season's modest form has been eclipsed in two starts for his new yard; was headed close to home on his seasonal bow at Newmarket but went one better with a win at Yamouth last time; he's got a 5lb penalty but must be considered a player.
Made the most of a lenient mark to score over C&D last week; showed determination to hold on grimly when pressed near the finish. He's 2lb well-in despite the penalty and probably has more to offer; thriving since joining his current yard.
Not fully exposed and seems to be going the right way since stepping into handicap company. Down 2lb since his last start but the long absence has to be a concern. The betting will have to guide.
This track suits him well but the gelding has been struggling to get his head in front for a while now; was no match for Magic Shuffle over C&D last time hard to see him being able to reverse the form.
Proved his well being with a near miss on his seasonal debut at Windsor last month; was only headed once he was inside the final furlong but kept on well to finish third. That will have set him up nicely; worth considering and won't mind any rain.
Enjoying himself since joining the Appleby training set up and plying his trade on the Flat; made the most of a good opportunity to win over C&D last week and still has more up his sleeve despite being set to carry 4lb extra; still 1lb well-in.
Consistent on the AW but similarly rated on turf, so merits respect on the pick of his form. Best recent efforts came over the extended 1m1f on the Tapeta at Wolverhampton but this is a bit tougher than many of his latest assignments. Bit to prove.
Fourth of 10 over C&D last month (Il Sicario was back in sixth), which was his best effort on turf so far; needs to move through the gears a little quicker but this is a slight drop in grade; needs to prove he truly gets the trip. Place claims.
In reasonably good form on the AW this year (won over 1m2f at Lingfield in February and placed three times since). Has form on turf from races in Belgium and Germany but there's a good chance he'll cope; others more proven, though.
Finished behind Janus on the Polytrack at Lingfield last month and has since run to a comparable level; has been placed over C&D but those efforts came in moderate company. More needed here (first run on turf since last September).
Sole career win to date came in a maiden at Longchamp two years ago but he's been in a steady decline since arriving on these shores. Has experience of the trip but finished last of 13 in his latest attempt. Would be a very surprising winner.
Was a surprise winner at Chepstow (1m, good to firm) a couple of years ago but shown precious little since; was unsuccessfully tried over hurdles last winter but achieved nothing and returned to underachievement on the Flat; makes little appeal.
Almost two years since he started a race at single figure odds and has generally run to market expectations; he's currently 1-29 under both codes and it's hard to make a case out for him being anything better than a bit part player.
Posted nothing of note since he won a 5.5f sprint here in July 2017 and tries this trip in public for only the second time in his lifetime; he's due to drop another 9lb in the ratings; not difficult to put a line through his claims.

COMPETITION eased to a deserved victory here last week and is still well enough treated to suggest he can brush aside his penalty in a weak race such as this. Magic Shuffle and Songkran are a couple of others that carry extra weight for recent wins but both are capable of making the selection pull out all the stops. Not many of the rest make much appeal from a punting perspective but perhaps Cuttin' Edge and Mystic Dragon can raise enough of a challenge to make it an interesting scrap for the place money.
