Ran away with a Newmarket handicap on latest start, winning by 14l but it was a modest contest and a couple underperformed. 9lb rise for that looks enough and although conditions ideal again, he may need to improve once more to defy the rise.
Almost a year since he won one but that disguises a couple of very good efforts in the meantime, including when runner-up in a big field handicap here last October. Goes up in trip today but that could suit, and has a chance for a yard going well.
Two wins in 16 starts, was gelded before reappearance at Ayr last month, where he faded late after leading; might be he's starting to become a bit tricky to win with, and on balance, others make more appeal.
Four times a winner back in 2017/18 but came back from a long absence to finish well held at Newcastle last month. May need more time to get himself fully fit, and is passed over today.
Three times a winner on the all-weather (seems to handle turf) and win at Newcastle last month franked when runner-up won well at Hamilton next time; 4lb rise for that fair, stays this trip well, and no reason not to run her race.
Back on the same mark as when scoring at Musselburgh last August (12f, good to firm) but hasn't repeated that standard of run in five subsequent starts, including on reappearance last month. Yard still struggling for winners too.
Has returned from a break in good heart, successful over 12f at Newcastle and running to the same standard when third at Thirsk on latest start. Conditions look fine for him and although one or two may be better handicapped, he should run his race.
Won last two starts last year for Jessica Harrington before joining new yard, but turned in a pretty laboured effort for them at Newcastle in February and hasn't been seen since. Has had wind surgery but may be best watched today.
Winner on the Tapeta at Wolverhampton (12f) last October but he's not gone on from that and was proving a little expensive to follow when last seen. Returns from an absence and likely to need the run.
No win in five starts last year, best effort coming at Newcastle in September, second over a mile. Takes a big step up in trip for reappearance today and yard's tend to need a run to put them straight. so best watched today.
In good form lately, and gained due reward when successful at Haydock (10½f) on latest start; upped 4lb for that in a better race today, and takes a step up in trip too, so has new questions to answer, but clearly in good heart.

Fox Vardy (11/8), Purdey's Gift (5/1), Sootability (7/1), Dark Lochnagar (7/1), Sweet Celebration (9/1), Gabrial The One (9/1), Sandret (10/1), Cockalorum (12/1), Mutamaded (33/1), Sweet Dime (80/1), Mr Carpenter (100/1), Bolder Bob (100/1)
Fox Vardy will be well fancied by many to follow up his Newmarket romp and whilst his chance is obvious enough, that fomr may not be quite as good as it first appears, and there are alternatives to the likely short-priced favourite. SWEET CELEBRATION's latest win got a boost when the second scored decisively at Hamilton on his next start and with conditions fine, she can score again from a 4lb higher mark. Sootability needs a bit more improvement but that's not impossible and she can get in the frame. Cockalorum might do better again now going up in trip.
- Sweet Celebration
- Fox Vardy
- Sootability
