Won off 5lb higher mark at Worcester over a year ago but lost his way badly after that and not seen September. The break since may have freshened him up and does now reappear in a lower grade but plenty to prove for now.
Showed a bit more at Taunton when last seen in March but still ultimately beaten 32L and needs to show more before becoming a betting proposition.
Generally struggled since his fourth win over fences at Sedgefield last August but well treated if able to bounce back and a run on the Flat at Redcar last month should have made him fitter.
Improved to get off the mark when well backed at Catterick but failed to build on that at Sedgefield in March. Needs to bounce back but doesn't have many miles on the clock.
Improved last year under this rider and finally got off the mark with something to spare at Hereford in November. Presumably had a problem as not seen after but the 6lb rise for that win seems fair.
Without a win in 11 runs since coming from Ireland, dropping 26lb in the process and needs to find a spark from somewhere to get back in the winners enclosure.
Best form last year when 7L second to Wisecracker in November but below that form in two runs since. Prefers a sound surface so any rain could be a problem.
Cheap buy a year ago from Dan Skelton but hasn't quite matched his best form for that yard with a close second at Musselburgh in November a standout effort. Rare runner for trainer here but others make more appeal.
Still a maiden but showed ability on all starts when sent chasing last winter and may have gone close but for unseating rider on penultimate run. May have more to come and this is a very weak contest.
Sole win was gained exactly two years ago and although showing he still had some fire in him on occasions last term, he did finish the campaign on a low and needs to bounce back to make an impression.
Forecasts
Peterborough (2/1), Wisecracker (5/1), Getaway North (11/2), Elixer (6/1), My Renaissance (8/1), Agentleman (16/1), Canny Tom (16/1), Istimraar (20/1), Cillian's Well (22/1), Thomas Blossom (28/1)
A poor race even for the lowly grade with recent form thin on the ground. If WISECRACKER can be relied on to return in the form he showed when winning on his last run in November that may be enough to follow up. Elixir is one of the few in the field who may still have improvement to come and may chase the selection home, with Cillian's Well of some interest in this drop in grade if he can bounce back to form.
- Wisecracker
