Ex-Irish Big Bad Bob geldng who was 25/1 second on only start at Ballinrobe in September for Andrew Oliver. Makes British debut for top yard who won this in 2016 and seems sure to be thereabouts.
Court Cave gelding who ran fair race when seventh in bumper on debut at Exeter in December but not seen again after getting stuck in the Chepstow mud a few weeks later. Sound surface should suit.
Arvicoe gelding out of winning point-to-pointer who placed a few times under Rules as well. Doesn't jump off the page as a likely winner on debut and others are preferred.
Kalanisi gelding out of dam of little account. Yard has just 4% strike rate in this sphere so on balance is likely to benefit from this debut experience.
12,000gns Cacique gelding related to a number of others out of dam who placed in Listed company at 5f as a juvenile. yard has 21% strike rate in bumpers so every chance he'll be ready to do himself justice on debut.
New Approach colt who cost 28,000gns as a 2yo, but sold again unraced for just £4,000 at Ascot December 2019 Sales. Makes debut following wind operation, and wears both a tongue-tie and a hood.
Geordieland mare out of dam who won twice on Flat and three times over hurdles. Looks type to make a hurdler but may find a few too good here first time out.
Flemensfirth mare who cost 40,000 euros as a 3yo and is out of dam who won bumper and over hurdles. Rare bumper runner for yard and has first racecourse outing following wind surgery.
By Malinas out of unraced dam related to a number of fair performers. Showed promise when fourth in Ludlow bumper on debut in January and hails from yard in tremendous form at present. Seems sure to go well.
Forecasts
Beholden (15/8), Bob Pebble (5/2), Follow That (11/4), Courtland (12/1), Andy's Wish (14/1), Joe Kidd (25/1), Catch Me Not (25/1), Rwanda (33/1), Ivorsalegend (125/1)
Having his first start for the champion trainer after running very well when second on his only start in Ireland, BOB PEBBLE is taken to make a winning British debut. He showed plenty of ability at Ballinrobe and is definitely in the right hands. Follow That made a pleasing debut when fourth at Ludlow earlier this year and should win races. She looks the main danger to the selection and her stable could hardly be in better form. Beholden looks the pick of the newcomers and any market support for him would be significant, while Courtland is not without a chance having shown a little promise on the first of his two runs last term.
- Bob Pebble
- Follow That
- Beholden
