Golden Horn half-brother to Group 1 winner Veracious and Group 2 1m2f winner Mutakayyef. Found only smart sort too good on seasonal bow (second start) at Newbury (1m2f, good to firm; 13-2) having had wind op during break. Big chance on h'cap bow.
Remains a maiden after nine starts but out of the month just once in five AW appearances; may have needed the run on return at Goodwood (1m2f, good) when easy to back; can likely do better back in this sphere up in trip.
Filly showed enough in three starts last year in maiden/novice company to suggest she'll be winning races; looked in need of the outing on return/h'cap bow at Goodwood (1m2f, good to firm; 8-1) and up once again in trip here.
Looked unlucky on seasonal bow/AW debut at Lingfield (1m4f) early last month after meeting traffic and proved that theory with decisive Kempton success next time. Carries a 6lb penalty but improving colt should have more to come and much-respected
Zoffany filly improved markedly on two-year-old form when second at Lingfield (1m2f, AW; 5-1) recently on return to action/h'cap bow. 2lb higher up in trip but entitled to make further progress.
Beat precious little in three novice starts during late 2019; will require a big step forward on seasonal return/h'cap over this longer trip to get competitive.
Showed very little on his first three outings over 6f/7f, but did better on his nursery debut, when making the frame at Pontefract (1m, soft) last October. On the same mark for this reappearance but some likely sorts in opposition.
Some promise in four runs; though well held on handicap bow at Yarmouth (7f, good; 10-1) last month. Plenty to work on at the moment.
Forecasts
Galata Bridge (1/1), Thai Power (7/4), Lismore (5/1), Utopian Lad (20/1), Heliaebel (25/1), Ho Leng Lui (40/1), El Jefe (40/1), Jersey Grey (80/1)
Thai Power is on the up and put a luckless Lingfield run behind him when scoring with plenty in hand at Kempton 10 days ago. He looks sure to give another good account of himself despite the penalty he carries. He may meet a different calibre of opponent in GALATA BRIDGE here however. Sir Michael Stoute's colt made a pleasing reappearance in second behind unbeaten Tuscan Gaze at Newbury last month; he shapes as though he'll improve again up in distance and hasn't been overburdened with a mark of 71. Filly Lismore made a good fist of her handicap bow at Lingfield and can be competitive.
