133-rated handicap hurdler, last seen running an admirable race in defeat in the Grade 3 Fred Winter at the Cheltenham festival in March. One from nine on the Flat with victory coming over 1m3½f in October. Place claims.
Rated a 95 handicap hurdler, finished down the field on seasonal debut at Navan over 1m5f on soft ground last month. Possibly best watched unless market indicates otherwise.
Had shown improved form on the Polytrack at Dundalk in the spring before a decent effort behind Lalipour at Navan last month over 1m5f. One to note in the market.
Off the mark on the Flat at the seventh time of asking for connections, landing a Navan over 1m5f on soft ground last month off a 7lb lower mark. Another bold bid expected.
Winner of one of his eight Flat races on turf but a string of dismal efforts have the gelding racing 2lb lower than last winning mark. Well held on return at Fairyhouse last month and has plenty of questions to answer in this contest.
Winner of a Fairyhouse handicap last month over a similar trip on good ground to get off the mark at the third attempt on turf. Can run a big race off a 5lb higher mark.
Winner of a Point-to-point in January and a 2m4f maiden hurdle at Kilbeggan on Monday. Yet to hit the frame in five starts on the Flat but is clearly in the form to make a big impression in this contest.
Winner of two of his 25 career starts on the Flat both victories from 20 efforts on turf. Struggling a little towards the end of last season and is currently 15lb lower than last winning mark.
Seven-race maiden on the Flat with his second of 18 beaten a neck at Cork in October over 1m½f a career best. Not one to place a great deal of faith in.
Racing on the AW at Newcastle, Wolverhampton and a couple of spins at Dundalk without success between December and February. Ran well in defeat over 1m5½f in a Fairyhouse handicap late last month. Enters calculations.
Currently racing 4lb lower than last winning mark but the mare has been badly out of form from since the turn of the year and on seasonal debut at Leopardstown last month. Others preferred.
Placed in three of her 11 starts on the Flat, where she stays at least 1m4f. Overall has plenty to find in this contest.
Yet to hit the frame in eight career starts including five efforts on turf. Well held on most recent starts on the Flat and holds no realistic chance on what she has shown so far.
Forecasts
Aprils Joy (9/4), Red Vermillion (4/1), Lalipour (6/1), Mithmaar (13/2), Bajan Excell (13/2), Ingleby Mackenzie (15/2), Yamato (11/1), Indian Eye (50/1), Aunty Audrey (66/1), Morph (80/1), Paula's Prayer (100/1), Dragon's Pass (125/1), Fontainbleau (200/1)
The Gordon Elliott-trained LALIPOUR stayed on strongly in the closing stages to win at Navan last month and wont mind the extra furlong to land the spoils in this contest. The four-year-old can once again get the better of the Denis Hogan-trained Mithmar who finished 3¼L behind to finish fifth of the 15 runners. April's Joy for trainer Gavin Cromwell should her well-being to win over hurdles at Kilbeggan on Monday and can produce another bold bid along with Red Vermillion, a winner on his second start last month at Fairyhouse over 1m5½f.
- Lalipour
- Mithmaar
- Aprils Joy
