Still has scope on turf but needs to take a big step forward from his two starts last month. Now tried in a visor; the betting can guide as to expected improvement for the fitting of the application.
Went close at Leicester at the back-end of last season but his latest outing was a step in the wrong direction. Should be fitter for the run but plenty to prove in the first-time cheekpieces.
Made a winning start over 7f on the Tapeta surface at Wolverhampton last October but had excuses when brushed aside in two AW novice stakes since. Now tries a mile for the first time but a feasible improver if taking to racing on turf.
Respectable efforts posted so far and should have no issues with the trip judging by the distaff side of her pedigree. Represents a top/in-form yard so must be respected.
Shown flashes of ability but failed to live up to the early billing of mark of 81; he's been cut some slack since but was held in a couple of AW handicaps in January when last seen. Needs to improve now back on turf for his season debut.
Pedigree is stacked full of promise but his racecourse performances have so far left a bit to be desired. No obvious excuse when nearer last than first on his seasonal return but possible this slightly longer trip will suit; something to find.
Steadily improving and made a smooth transition to handicapping with a comfortable win at Lingfield (1m, standard) last month. No reason to suggest switching to turf will be a big issue; must be a player in this modest company.
Comfortably justified a short price when winning over C&D last month and, given that he's 3lb well-in despite the penalty, he looks capable of turning around previous form with Dartington if given a more positive ride. Solid chance.
Forecasts
Motamayiz (5/6), Dartington (9/2), School Of Thought (6/1), Anglo Saxson (12/1), What An Angel (14/1), Macho Boy (16/1), Plath (18/1), San Rafael (22/1)
MOTAMAYIZ was given a lot to do when he finished behind the likes of Dartington on his penultimate start but went some way to putting the record straight with a cozy success last time out. This doesn't look much tougher and the gelding, whose trainer is flying at present, looks worth a punt to reverse the form with his old rival. San Rafael is a potential improver now tried on turf, while Plath has winners in her pedigree and, as she runs for a top yard, she too merits a betting check.
- Motamayiz
- Dartington
- San Rafael
