Winner of a maiden hurdle over 2m at Down Royal in May last year, the gelding needs to jump more fluently than his first couple of starts over the larger obstacles on return to action.

Age: 7|  Weight: 12-0| J: C A Landers(5)| T: C Byrnes| D

Solid 140-rated handicap hurdler. Ran well in defeat on his latest start in the Martin Pipe at the Cheltenham festival in March. Worth a market check on chase debut.

Thought good enough to run in the Grade 1 Flogas novice chase at Leopardstown in February, a race won by Faugheen. Clearly liked at home and a major player at this level.
4
Horse silk
80/1
110-rated rated hurdler winning at Wexford last summer before running well in defeat in a number of novice hurdle efforts between August and October. Interesting recruit over fences.

Has hit the frame on three occasions over fences in five starts including finishing second of five in a Grade 3 contest at Navan in December. More expected dropping to this level.

Won three handicap hurdles at up to 2m4f and shaped well on chasing bow here in November when 4th of 15 over 2m2f before decent third of 12 beaten 4½L at Thurles in January. Not to be taken lightly.

125/1
100-rated handicap hurdler who will have disappointed connections in a couple of initial starts over the larger obstacles in November/December. May find this a tough assignment.

Looked to be on the up following a win at Clonmel in May 2019 but form appeared to diminish by September, well held on a couple of occasions as beaten favourite. Market likely to be the best guide on chasing debut.

Lost the race in the stewards room on chasing debut at Ballinrobe last August before disappointing both over hurdles and when last seen in October in a Galway 2m2f novice chase. Vast improvement needed to figure.

Horse silk
28/1
Experienced winner of three of his 15 starts over hurdles the latest of which came in a 2m4½f contest at Leopardstown on yielding ground over Christmas. Beaten on a couple of occasions since and best checked in the market on chasing introduction.
Useful 123-rated handicap hurdler winner of two of his 16 starts over timber. Likely to be well tuned on chasing debut for respected connections.

150/1
Dismal form of later in the season continued on return to action in a Leopardstown 1m4f handicap on the Flat last month. Solid 125-rated handicap hurdler, looks an interesting recruit over the larger obstacles.
13
Horse silk
66/1
Winner of a Tramore maiden hurdle in August before 'never travelling' when last seen over 2m4f at Listowel in September. Market likely to be the best guide on chasing debut.

Daughter of Gold Well was quick off the mark over hurdles when landing a Wexford maiden over 2m 12 months ago. Continued in decent form over timber since. Could go well if jumping fluently on first start over fences.

100/1
First Reserve: 91-rated handicap hurdler. No impression on sole start over the larger obstacles at Clonmel when last seen in March and very little to be positive about here.

Verdict

The trainer and jockey combination of Gordon Elliott and Davy Russell can land the spoils with I'M A GAME CHANGER. The eight-year-old was thought good enough to contest a couple of Grade 3 novice chases last season and can get this season off to a winning start at the expense of the Henry De Bromhead-trained Dommage Pour Toi who was last seen in the Grade 1 Flogas novice chase at Leopardstown in February, a race won by Faugheen. Doctor Duffy for trainer Charles Byrnes could be of interest if the subject of a market move, while Line Out and Polished Steel on debut for trainer Jessica Harrington are not ruled out.
  1. I'm A Game Changer
  2. Dommage Pour Toi
  3. Line Out
