Sent off at 100-1 & ran as expected when ninth in a ten-runner affair at Newbury (1m4f; good) after a four-month break on stable debut. Place claims on the strength of his runner-up effort over C&D in November. Unlikely to be in the same form.

Losing run is starting to build up but he did show more encouragement when third to an improver over 1m4f at this track on just second start this year. Still 1lb above last winning mark though, and he has been inconsistent of late.

Enjoyed a tremendous 2019 in which he just kept on improving. Recorded three victories including over C&D in February. Profile when fresh suggests he may need this but this isn't a deep contest and highly likely another productive season awaits.

Lightly raced for a five-year-old, but showed all his old ability remains when runner-up to Palavecino who has since gone on to frank the form. Marked step up in trip from 1m3f to 2m should yield plenty of improvement and could be chucked in.

Vulnerable to less exposed, improving types. However, you couldn't knock his reappearance run at Sandown (1m6f; good) when fifth. Only ran over this trip on two occasions down the years and been well-beaten on each of them.

Verdict

He may have disappointed some when only fourth on his comeback after being sent off favourite, but Blame It On Sally ran a nice enough race and should produce a better performance stepping back up to 2m.. The Roger Charlton yard are going along at a decent enough rate currently, and the master of Beckhampton does well with stayers so they will be looking forward to seeing how far True Destiny can go this season. He may be bumping into one in the shape of HOUSE EDGE though who is very unexposed and is only 2lb higher than when runner-up on his first run after two years off. Connections are evidently wasting no time stepping him up in trip and he will take some stopping.
  1. House Edge
  2. True Destiny
  3. Blame It On Sally
