Just edged out on debut when runner-up at Goodwood (7f; good to firm). Form of that race is yet to be tested, but she showed a very willing attitude which should hold her in good stead. Major player with yard/jockey both flying.

Golden Horn filly who is a half-sister to multiple winners including the yards three-time Group 2 winner Promising Run. Stable have been quiet recently, but no surprise to see this filly go close on debut. Worth close attention in the betting.
Invincible Spirit filly who is a half-sister to the owners' Juddmonte International hero Arabian Queen. Is also a half-sister to the likes of Australian Queen, Cosmopolitan Queen and Arabian King. Very interesting on paper & market check advised.

Sea The Moon filly. Top yard remain in good form (5-20; 25% strike-rate over last 14 days). Dam was a bumper/listed hurdle winner and is a full sister to a couple of quite useful jumpers. Likely to be seen to best effect once stepped up in trip.
Shown ability but has been slightly underwhelming in two career starts thus far. Step up to this trip looks a positive though, after she was outpaced over 6f at this track last time out. Improved showing expected and worth another chance.

Fascinating Rock filly. Sales price rose from €15,000 as a foal to €25,000 as a yearling. Dam a half-sister to a couple of French listed winners. Hot contest to make career debut in and others look stronger on paper.

Makes AW debut/steps up to 7f after failing to feature in a pair of maiden races on turf recently. This doesn't look any easier than either of those contests and so she is passed on with ease. Gains a handicap mark after running in this contest.

Forecasts

Gold Wing (9/5), Basilicata (9/4), Sarsaparilla (4/1), Iconic Queen (5/1), Alagappa (16/1), Tribute To Jade (22/1), Spring Time Bay (28/1), Lunar Shadow (50/1)

Verdict

This contest should prove to be an informative one for with a couple of really interesting newcomers to look forward to, notably Gold Wing and Iconic Queen. The former should have a bright future, but the latter is preferred out of the two given she is a half-sister to Group 1 winning Arabian Queen and is from a family the owner has done well with. Of those with experience, Basilacata is likely to make a bold bid given she went down fighting on debut, but SARSAPARILLA is worth one last chance. The selection disappointed up to now, but this step up to 7f looks sure to bring about improvement and she can get off the mark at the third attempt.
  1. Sarsaparilla
  2. Basilicata
  3. Iconic Queen
