Like so many from the yard, has improved a chunk for going up in trip and into handicaps, 2-2 since doing so and won with any amount in hand at Redcar (14f) last week; penalty to carry for that but on the up and the one to beat again.
Disappointing that he couldn't do better on first start this year, last of four when well backed to score at Yarmouth (11½f) ; possible that this step up in trip will suit on breeding, so not written off yet, but something to prove now.
Maiden after six starts but ran a nice race on reappearance when a 4l 5th to Duke Of Condicote at Haydock, looking like a step up in trip was worth a try; will need to settle better to get home, but yard still having winners, and has chances.
Placed four of her six starts but expensive to follow and not really progressing; nothing wrong with her 3¾l second at Newmarket (12f), looking like a step up in trip would suit; not discounted, but others preferred.
Well beaten in four starts so far and readily held on handicap debut at Wolverhampton in March, plugged on late and big step up in trip may help, but in truth it needs to.
Not a lot to shout about last year but much better on debut run this season, third to the improving Alphabetical at Yarmouth, appreciating a step up in trip; gets a good chunk of weight off the likely favourite and could be the danger.
Looks very moderate after four starts and although third over 12f at Pontefract latest, was beaten a long way; yard going well is the only real positive.
Forecasts
Revolver (5/6), Single (10/3), Selsey Sizzler (11/2), You Owe Me (11/1), Soldier On Parade (12/1), Bouncing Bobby (50/1), Mick (100/1)
Tricky race to finish with. A better showing over this longer trip from You Owe Me wouldn't be the biggest surprise but it was a laboured effort at Yarmouth and he can only really be watched for the time being. Revolver is the one to beat after a couple of wins but SELSEY SIZZLER ran much better upped in trip last time and gets a useful 11lb off the top weight. He can make that count and continue his stable's good run. Soldier On Parade needs to settle a bit better but there's more to come from him when he does.
- Selsey Sizzler
- Revolver
- Soldier On Parade
