Put up decent show when 7L sixth in 1m Pontefract handicap on seasonal bow (good) over a fortnight ago. Now 3lb below last winning mark and has capable 7lb claimer on board. Of some interest.
Failed to win in fruitless campaign last year but started new season well, including 3L second over C&D last time out. Yard have hit the ground running and bold show expected.
7f winner back at Newcastle in February but finding higher mark tougher since, including 5L sixth at Wolverhampton (6f) in March. Down 5lb for this however and has top claimer on board. Shortlisted.
Modest form when with Godolphin and yet to make a mark for this yard, including latests 13L eighth at Pontefract (1m) 10 days ago. Needs more and looks stable's second string.
Latest win came at Newcastle in January and had been held subsequently before neck second at Newcastle (7f) this month. Up 1lb since but jockey and trainer are in strong form. Place claims.
Ran well last season without failing to trouble the judge and seemed like it would be the same case when 5L fourth over 7f here 10 days ago. Same applies today and more is slightly needed.
Thirsk specialist. Hasn't won since May 2018 but consistently runs up to his mark, including when second of eight at Newcastle (1m) in March. Not seen since and tends to need first outing off a break.
Two-time winner. Form tailed off towards the end of last season but put in pleasing enough return when 2L fourth in 1m Leicester handicap this month. Down 1lb and that may put him in the mix.
Kept busy on the AW during the winter but remains a maiden on turf. No show when last of 13 over 7f at this venue on his seasonal reappearance and others make more appeal.
Only one win on turf but typically runs okay on turf. Fared better than the result suggested when fourth of 10 at Thirsk (1m) this month and goes off the same mark. Place claims.
Last seen finishing eighth in 5f Wolverhampton handicap when last seen on British shores in February 2019. Since had a fruitless spell in Germany before switching to this yard. Lots to do on stable debut.
Eight-race maiden and wasn't beaten far in his three penultimate starts. Not as a good when 6L fifth at Leicester (1m2f) and drops markedly in trip for this. More needed.
Dual sprint winner who is on a long losing streak. Didn't show signs of that changing when 6L seventh at Thirsk (1m) 12 days ago and may need some more leeway in the handicap.
11-race maiden who has been a rank outsider for a handful of her latest starts. Ran accordingly when 25L 12th at Wolverhampton this month (7f). Mammoth task from out of the handicap.
Forecasts
My Boy Lewis (10/3), Placebo Effect (9/2), Blazing Dreams (13/2), Mango Chutney (8/1), Equidae (12/1), Bugler Bob (12/1), Bawaader (14/1), Straight Ash (14/1), Lukoutoldmakezebak (16/1), Abushamah (18/1), Najib (22/1), Global Exceed (28/1), Kingi Compton (125/1), Pinkie Pie (250/1)
Trainer Roger Fell has started the resumption of racing in strong form and there is every chance that MY BOY LEWIS can continue that vein. The four-year-old has failed to get his head in front for some time, but he tends to progress throughout the season and the jockey booking is notable. Blazing Dreams took well to a stiff 7f last time out and this contest should be his optimum for a trip for a stable who have been amongst the winners this week, while the likes of Abushamah and Lukoutoldmakezebak put up decent seasonal reappearances and have yet to be fully grasped by the handicapper this term.
- My Boy Lewis
- Blazing Dreams
- Abushamah
