First foal from the Oaks third The Lark; was always towards the fore when a most determined 4L winner at Yarmouth (1m, good to firm) 16 days ago; bare form perhaps not overly strong, and does carry a 7lb penalty.

Made late headway (never nearer) when finishing sixth of ten (100-1) to Mister Snowdon at Yarmouth (7f, firm) 23 days ago; steps up in trip to 1m; others hold far stronger credentials.

220,000gns vendor yearling; half-brother to three winners; ran reasonably well (beaten favourite) on debut at Haydock (7f, good) 17 days ago, and could feasibly improve for that initial experience.

Well beaten on both starts to date (York & Wolverhampton) with no reason whatsoever to anticipate it'll be third-time lucky; look elsewhere with immense confidence.

Kingman colt (120,000gns yearling); couldn't build upon the promise shown at York (Convivial Maiden) when a beaten 6-4f at Ayr (7f, good) the following month; off since (for 280 days); stablemate of Vega Magic.

150/1
Left the care of Ger Lyons for a paltry £2,000 in December 2019; made a reasonable fist of things on debut for Jennie Candlish (fourth to Ascraeus) over 7f at Wolverhampton 16 days ago; much more interesting once sent handicapping.
Frankel colt; sixth foal from the French winner Trojan Queen (1m1f); half-brother to the classy Sangarius (7f-1m2f, inc Group 3); certainly rates as a noteworthy newcomer with Ryan Moore in the saddle.
£16,000 yearling; second foal from a sister to the useful 7f-1m2½f winner Jackaroo; merits a cautious market check, but unless an avalanche of support arrives, others make plenty more appeal.

16/1
140,000gns yearling; went down all guns blazing on debut at York (7f, good); possibly wasn't suited by the testing underfoot conditions when a beaten favourite at Redcar the following month; stablemate of Gift Of Kings.

14/1
Muharaar colt (375,000gns yearling); half-brother to seven winners; was slowly away and looked to be in dire need of the experience when finishing fifth on debut at Kempton (1m) a fortnight ago; should improve considerably for that run.

Dreamloper21
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-11| J: Dane O'Neill| T: E Walker
8/1
Lope De Vega filly (from a 1m2f-1m4f winning dam); couldn't quite get to grips with the protagonists when a pleasing 3¾L fourth to Pure Beauty on debut at Newmarket (7f, gd/fm) three weeks ago; this longer trip can play to her strengths.

14/1
Dubawi filly; third foal from the Listed-placed juvenile scorer Oojooba; half-sister to the 1m winner Sharamm; lacks the experience of her stablemate Baarrij, albeit does have the benefit of the up and coming Tom Marquand in the saddle.

Verdict

John Gosden's Magical Morning was a convincing winner at Yarmouth (1m, good to firm) 16 days ago, but whether or not he achieved enough (bare form essentially modest) to earn his BHA official rating of 92 is questionable. Therefore, in a race with a plethora of alternatives, he's taken on under an incurred 7lb penalty. Hydros (by Frankel) and Midrarr (by Dubawi) appeal as noteworthy newcomers, while the likes of Baarrij and Winter Thorn should be plenty wiser for their racecourse debuts. However, with a stamina-laden pedigree, the upped-in-trip Lope De Vega filly DREAMLOPER could offer the value-based solution for the Lambourn-handler Ed Walker.
  1. Dreamloper
  2. Hydros
  3. Magical Morning
