Twice successful over 1m on the AW (Newcastle & Chelmsford) earlier in the year; finished a keeping on third (met trouble in the run) to Straitouttacompton at Leicester (1m, good) 13 days ago; realistic contender.
Traditionally is at her very best at this South Yorkshire venue (C&D winner x3); has slipped right back down the weights owing to a poor run of form during 2019; seeking a major revival on her first start for 261-days.
Course winner (6f) who is most effective on a sound surface; absent since under-performing on the AW during the winter months, and the handicapper has slowly begun to cut her some slack.
Ex-Owen Burrows; twice placed in novice company in 2018; returned from a 13-month absence (stable debut) with a respectable fourth to Fortune And Glory at Lingfield (1m, std/slow) three weeks ago; is feasibly handicapped.
Easing in the weights - has fallen 11lb since joining this trainer; finished in the midfield on return to the turf at Beverley (7½f, good) 15 days ago; sole win to date (1-12) came on debut at Newbury (7f) in August 2018.
Soundly beaten on his first couple of starts (AW) for Marjorie Fife; forced the pace until weakening quickly (40-1) on return to action at Haydock (1m, gd/sft) 19 days ago; encounters a shorter trip and a projected sounder racing surface here.
Authoritative winner (16-1) of a similar Class 5 handicap at Salisbury (7f, good) last August; has struggled in stronger races since; the cheekpieces which were newly applied at Newcastle (7f) latest are discarded.
Contested the 2000 Guineas in 2016 (fifth), but has found winning on turf (1-21) a difficult task to master; more consistent on the AW during the winter months, and is effective over a wide range of trips (6f-1m).
Knocked at the door on various occasions last season (Leopardstown, Thurles and Dundalk); finished two places behind Double Martini on turf at Leicester (1m, good) 13 days ago; a visor is now applied.
Brought his career record to 0-14, when finishing a weakening seventh of 12 to Fortune And Glory (Muraahin fourth) at Lingfield (1m, std/slow) three weeks ago; prominent racer who is probably worth trying back over 7f.
Lightly-raced Iffraaj filly (cost 525,000gns as a yearling); wasn't beaten all that far when fourth to the subsequent Redcar scorer Ginger Max at Yarmouth (7f, firm) 23 days ago; rates as one of the likelier candidates.
With Roger Fell when winning a Class 5 fillies' handicap at Thirsk (1m, soft) in August 2018; didn't take too kindly to a stint over hurdles for Tom Symonds, so reverts to Flat racing (for Adrian Wintle) off a 235-day absence.
Remains a maiden (0-15); didn't get the necessary breaks when seeking to make up some ground from the rear at Pontefract (1m, good) 16 days ago; continues to ease in the weights (dropped a further 2lb).
Shadwell cast-off; has found his niche on the AW at Newcastle (mainly 7f) for the Spennymoor trainer Tracy Waggott; potentially sits a shade too high in the handicap from a mark of 63; rain (possible) could just serve to enhance his chance.

Ghathanfar - Original Position 3rd. Amended Position 2nd.
Forecasts
Double Martini (7/2), Bertog (11/2), Serenading (6/1), Florenza (8/1), Fares Poet (10/1), Duhallow Noelie (12/1), Athmad (14/1), Muraahin (16/1), Kentuckyconnection (18/1), Dream World (18/1), Ghathanfar (20/1), Mountain Rescue (25/1), Song of The Isles (33/1), Plansina (125/1)
Not the strongest of contests, but competitive enough numerically with 14 declared runners. The lightly-raced Iffraaj filly Serenading appeals as one of the more likely candidates after posting a solid comeback fourth at Yarmouth (7f, firm), while Double Martini and the now visored Duhallow Noelie recommence battle after finishing third and fifth respectively at Leicester (1m) 13 days ago. However, the tentative selection is Jamie Osborne's MURAAHIN, from what has the potential to be a workable enough handicap mark (70).
- Muraahin
- Serenading
- Double Martini
