Won a Class 6 nursery at Musselburgh for trainer Mark Johnston in August but things haven't really worked out for the Camacho colt since; well held this month on stable debut but gets Colin Keane up now so may do better.
Failed to build on encouraging debut at Limerick in July last year; only fair effort on return this month at Gowran Park (7f, good; 7-2) but remains with potential now switching into handicaps.
Has shown ability over 5f/6f already and may have need the run on return at Leopardstown (7f, good to firm; 9-1) this month. Down in trip and sharper today.
Hasn't happened so far in handicaps; including at Limerick (7f, good) last week; needs to find some improvement from somewhere.
No Nay Never filly hasn't impressed enough in four starts to merit selection now; cheekpieces back on but needs a big step forward.
Best effort to date when fifth of 9 to Kondratiev Wave in a 5f maiden at the Curragh in September but didn't build on that after; returns for seasonal/handicap bow with improvement demanded.
Epaulette filly has shown bits of promise on the Polytrack at Dundalk in four starts; back from 95 days off here and not without a hope on switch to turf.
Ran decent race in 5f Dundalk maiden on second of three runs there last year but not quite as good either side over 7f; makes handicap bow here on seasonal return/first start on turf.
Nine-race maiden; shaped much better when 3L fifth of nine at Fairyhouse (6f, good to firm; 16-1) eight days ago in first-time visor (retained) and possibilities if building on that now.
Filly has struggled in three qualifying runs and was a 200-1 chance in a C&D maiden this month when beaten more than 15L at the line; bit step forward needed here on h'cap bow.
Down the field in three maidens, latest at Naas (6f, soft to heavy; 100-1) in March. Will have to improve generously on h'cap bow but jockey booking a positive.
Forecasts
Lady Maura (10/3), Too Hard To Hold (9/2), Pixel Power (11/2), Fool Proof (7/1), Formyboys (7/1), Lady Alcazar (9/1), Sable Camp (12/1), All About Ivy (14/1), Misterio (20/1), Village Rock (22/1), Blue Umbrella (66/1)
Too Hard To Hold won over this trop last year for Mark Johnston and the booking of Colin Keane is a positive on second run for new connections, while Lady Alcazar (first run on turf) and Pixel Power are open to improvement but the vote goes to VILLAGE ROCK. He shaped with some promise in the first-time headgear at Fairyhouse eight days ago and can have a sound claim dropping in trip if he build on that now.
- Village Rock
- Too Hard To Hold
- Lady Alcazar
