£200,000 Breeze Up purchase last year but looked worth the money when making a belated winning debut at Lingfield recently, showing a good attitude to get up close home. Has penalty to concede and switches to turf but sets a decent standard.
Placed 3-6 but yet to get his head in front and connections reach for the first-time blinkers in an effort to focus his mind. Probably better for recent 5th at Doncaster last week and not out of it if headgear works.
Due Diligence filly related to a number of winning sprinters. Made belated racecourse bow when fourth, beaten under 2 lengths, to Breakfast Club at Lingfield and now 7lb better off. Chance if improving for that first run.
Roderic O'Connor filly who looked very green and struggled when finishing last of 6 over 7f at Lingfield last August. GIven plenty of time since then and yard in good form but needs to show more dropped back in trip.
Just under 4 length behind Breakfast Club at Lingfield on her first start since being well beaten on debut at Wolverhampton in March. More needed but step forward not out of the question.
Failed to make any impression on debut last term when tiring final furlong over 7f at Chelmsford in November. Dam's pedigree suggests she'll stay a mile and more but drops back here to minimum trip.
Forecasts
Dark Kris (11/10), Breakfast Club (2/1), Diligent Lady (13/2), Irish Tweed (12/1), Storm At Dawn (16/1), Smokey (50/1)
BREAKFAST CLUB comfortably defeated Diligent Lady and Smokey at Lingfield recently, and while it won't be as easy under his 7lb penalty he did appear to have a bit mor left in the tank and can confirm form. Diligent Lady acquitted herself well though on her fast ever run and is probably open to a touch more improvement than Smokey. Dark Kris (rated 75) sets a fair standard and will be better for his first run back but may again find one or two too good, while the first-time hood may help Irish Tweed show more than when well beaten on her only start last term.
- Breakfast Club
- Diligent Lady
