Sea The Stars colt who is a half-brother to several classy winners. Including 7f scorer True Solitaire and classy group performer Carla Bianca. Distance should be no issue and worth taking note of.

Teofilo colt. Appeared in need of debut effort when ninth of 18 in C&D maiden 12 days ago. Cheekpieces turned to and may have some improvement to come. Place claims.

Twice-raced promising sort who was second on debut before good third at Naas (1m, heavy) in March. This trip should suit better and has leading claims.

Once-raced colt. Blinkers retained after modest seventh of 18 at Naas (1m) on debut just under two weeks ago. Up in trip and looks yard's typical sort to improve.

Once-raced gelding. Unfancied and ran accordingly when 12th of 17 in 1m Naas maiden in March. Nothing to suggest he will greatly improve and this company looks tough.

Regally-bred Coolmore colt. Third on second start here in October but yet to really fire, including fifth of 18 at Naas (1m) 13 days ago. Might have more to come but needs it sooner rather than later.

35,000 gns yearling by Mastercraftsman. Dam was unraced and pedigree offers little to say he will be competitive on debut. Best watched unless notable market support.

Twice-raced gelding but yet to really get going. Sixteenth in C&D maiden when last seen 12 days ago. Looks to be one who will improve once handicapping.

Forecasts

Lough Cutra (4/5), Paradiso (3/1), Ciel D'afrique (11/2), Numen (7/1), Fraterculus (10/1), Danger Money (25/1), Yulong Moneyreef (66/1), Ralph Emerson (100/1), Overload (200/1)

Verdict

While there could be a few questions about his ability at this trip, preference is for LOUGH CUTRA to get off the mark at the third attempt. He has some good form ties by going close against a Listed winner last term and subsequent Royal Ascot winner Russian Emperor too, which sets the standard in this. Paradiso is a lovely-bred colt being a brother to dual 2000 Guineas winner Churchill, while his stable companion Numen has a lot of scope to improve from his first start. Ciel D'Afrique is well-bred and should not be overlooked either.
  1. Lough Cutra
  2. Paradiso
  3. Ciel D'afrique
