Dubawi colt; easy to back (9-2) and slowly into stride on debut at Newmarket (1m, soft) last back-end; as the second foal from the 2014 Oaks and King George winner Taghrooda remains of some interest.
Cost 105,000gns as a yearling; always prominent until weakening near the finish (fourth) on seasonal reappearance at Lingfield (1m4f) a fortnight ago; must enter the reckoning on that evidence.
Camelot gelding; second foal from the 6f AW winner Much Promise (half-sister to the Oaks heroine Talent); was declared as a non-runner at Newbury on June 12th.
Third foal from the 6f-7f winner Jessie's Spirit; already gelded ahead of his racecourse debut; others are broadly more appealing; look elsewhere.
50,000gns yearling; first foal from an unraced dam (sister to the useful stayer/smart hurdler Tigris River); stablemate of the once-raced Horn Of Plenty.
Sixth foal from a 1m2f & 1m6f (Listed) winner; half-brother to the 1m2f scorer Word Power; would make greater appeal as a type for further down the line.
Brother to the 1m4f winner To Be Wild, so it came as no real surprise that he took a minor step forward on his second start (sixth of 14 to Quickthorn); thought probable he'll find others stronger at these weights.
Fourth foal from the 1m5f AW scorer Fleur De Cactus; closely related to Pivoine (1m-1m3f); slowly away and far too green to do himself justice on recent course (1m2f) debut; some improvement is likely at 1m4f.
First foal from an unraced sister to the 7f Group 3 winner Talayeb, carries the same racing silks as Almighwar (who is partnered by retained rider Jim Crowley); market a helpful guide?
Third foal from a French Listed (1m4f) winner; half-sister to two winners, including the Group 3 scorer Pelligrina (1m4f); trainer has made a promising start to the season; merits market scrutiny.
25,000gns yearling; fifth foal from the 1m2f AW winner Ermyn Express; half-sister to the 1m2f winner Corgi; expected to draw some benefit from this initial racecourse experience; others considered more likely.

Almighwar (11/8), Chankaya (4/1), Tamaris (11/2), Thakwaan (8/1), Pagaille (10/1), Horn Of Plenty (12/1), Feldspar (16/1), Coltrane (20/1), Chivalry (25/1), Penkella (33/1), Go Bob Go (80/1), Clan Spirit (100/1)
Hugo Palmer's Chankaya sets the form standard, although it wouldn't come as a major surprise were one of the others to improve past that rival. Tamaris was far too green to do himself justice on recent course debut (1m2f), yet appeals as the type to fare better with experience over a longer trip, which is a similar comment that can be levelled towards the selection ALMIGHWAR. John Gosden's Dubawi colt was slightly disappointing when finishing down the field (race featured English King) in a back-end Newmarket maiden, yet remains the preferred choice (over Thakwaan) of Hamdan Al Maktoum's retained rider Jim Crowley. Of the fillies, Pagaille is most noteworthy.
- Almighwar
- Tamaris
- Chankaya
