Looked promising in early stages of career, but then things went awry. Has way too much to prove on debut for new connections after a majorly disappointing effort when last seen at Kempton (1m; standard to slow). 360-day absence to defy.

Was the subject of a controversial gamble before the enforced break when beating his higher-rated stablemate Yuften at Dundalk (7f; standard). In decent form prior to that, but dangerous to take the form too seriously.

Profile would suggest he has a preference for faster conditions. Sold from William Haggas to new connections after finishing in midfield at Newcastle (1m; standard) in October. Unexposed & could be open to more improvement on seasonal/stable debut.

Took a small step forward when last seen to just miss out on the placings at Dundalk (7f; standard). That came after a quiet stable debut on penultimate start and if progressing again after short break he would have place claims.

Only encouraging effort worth mentioning of late came on the sand at Laytown (7f; standard) in September. Doesn't win very often and the yard aren't exactly firing the winners in. Therefore, he doesn't have much going for him and can be opposed.

Makes debut for new connections after departing the Tim Easterby stable. This source are capable of improving horses from other yards, and she was in good form when last seen. Despite the absence, a market check is advised.

Remains unexposed and looked a handicapper to follow for former yard when successful at Ayr's Western meeting in September. It was a concern he changed hands after and he he ran a poor race on debut for this stable last week.

Could never lay a glove on those towards the front of the race when always towards the rear on his comeback run over 6f at this course last week. Still doesn't look very well handicapped given his current form & is best watched for the time being.

Tried over a variety of trips in recent months, and now goes back over 7f after failing to justify favouritism (sent off 15/8f) when midfield over 6f at this track recently. Difficult to enthuse over and he is still winless after 16 starts.

Definite chance on the form he showed when third at the Curragh (7f; good to yielding) back in August. Not a reliable sort though, as proven by his subsequent two starts which have been disappointing. Stiff task off this mark.

Still early days and despite not being as good the last twice, on the whole he has shown enough in a handful of starts in maiden company to suggest he can make his mark in handicaps. Seasonal debut and a market check advised.

Was in tremendously consistent form when last seen and has failed to finish out of the first three in any of his last three starts. Climbing up the weights as a result but goes well fresh so no reason why he can't make a bold bid.

4lb above last winning mark and is yet to win in 11 starts on turf. Wasn't disgraced when sixth at this track over 6f last week. Would need to step up on that to feature and may want a bit of juice in the ground.

Mark continues to decline but she looks nowhere near ready to take advantage as highlighted by her tame reappearance effort at Gowran Park (7f; good) on Wednesday. Turned out quickly again, but market informative. Hard to recommend on form.

Finished 13th of 14 on stable debut at Dundalk (7f; standard) on her penultimate start and then contested a void race in March at that same track. Yard did get on the scoresheet at this track last week. Too much to prove to recommend though.

First reserve. 16lb below last winning mark as he makes seasonal reappearance. Mildly hinted at taking advantage of drop in the weights towards the backend of last year. Failed to do so but he does go well fresh so worth a market check.

Verdict

A tricky puzzle to solve with a few of these struggling for form at the moment, and others making their debut for new connections such as Arletta Star. She was progressive for her former yard and if arriving in similar form to what she displayed during last season she ought to go close, but it is concerning her previous connections have chosen to move her on. Salt Whistle Bay if able to show some more improvement again, and the jockey booking of Colin Keane is worth noting. This looks an ideal opportunity for MIRACLES IN MAY to regain the winning thread. He has a progressive profile, goes well fresh and has winning form at this course so is very hard to get away from.
