Hasn't set the world alight in a pair of maidens at Kempton (6f/7f; standard to slow). Did show some progress from debut effort to finish fifth when last seen but hard to see him reversing the form with Rommel (finished third).

Myboycharlie colt. €15,000 yearling. Half-brother to three winners including two-year-old/AW winner Prost. Respected coming from this source and interest will be heightened in him if betting speaks in his favour.

Beaten just one rival in a pair of runs over 5f/6f at this track. Very hard to envisage him giving the leading contenders anything to think about and so he remains best watched. First-time cheekpieces applied.
By Prince Of Lir and cost just €7,000 as a yearling. Half-brother to five winners over a variety of trips ranging from 5f/6f/7f-2m2f. Stable form a slight concern.Betting likely to be the best guide to this ones chances.

Standout contender of those with experience in this field. Showed plenty of promise on debut at Kempton (7f; standard to slow) when third. If replicating that level of form it will take a good one to beat him.

Daughter of Anjaal. Cost £9,000 as a yearling and is a half-sister to a couple of winners. There is more stamina than speed in the pedigree, but she is an interesting newcomer nevertheless.

Heerat filly making racecourse debut. Made £3,000 as a yearling. Half-sister to two winners. Stable not renowned for training first-time out winners and they are in very quiet form at present.

Forecasts

Rommel (1/1), Master Of Brazil (9/2), Myboymax (6/1), Balavad (9/1), Anjaaletta (9/1), Henrik (12/1), Cuban Fox (18/1), Verre Dore (100/1), Bomb Squad (125/1)

Verdict

This looks a good opportunity for ROMMEL to get off the mark at the second attempt after posting a likeable debut effort at Kempton last week. Out of those with experience, it is hard to see anything coming close to him so it is left to the newcomers to give him something to think about of which there are a few to choose from. On paper, the pick would have to be Master Of Brazil who is related to plenty of winners and his sire produced a smart debut winner at Yarmouth recently. Myboymax is entitled to plenty of respect for these connections, while similar comments apply to Henrik. Also of interest is Anjaleeta for further down the line when upped in trip.
  1. Rommel
  2. Master Of Brazil
  3. Henrik
