Winner of a Newton Abbot bumper around this time last year when in the care of trainer Dan Skelton. Mixed messages in four hurdle starts for current connections. Worth noting in the betting on Flat debut.
Not outclassed in Grade 2 event at Cheltenham in November last year before disappointing over hurdles at this venue over 2m. Has shown plenty of promise on the Flat.
Four-race maiden, career best effort coming in a Kilarney 1m3f maiden on good ground in May last year. Stable going well since resumption of racing and one to note in the betting.
Well beaten and no impression in four career bumper starts between June and October last year. Needs to improve on even his best form to play a role in this contest.
Gelding by Reliable Man. Recently seen over hurdles in February but could be a live one based on a number of starts on the Flat previously.
Has been encouraging on all his four racecourse appearances just finding one too good last time at Tipperary in August last year. Entitled to make the shortlist on return to action.
Winner of three of his four starts in bumper company. Below-par over timber at best in a number of starts between November and March. Needs a few to falter on Flat introduction.
Sixth of 10 beaten 13L on sole start on the Flat. 14-race maiden overall. Hard to fancy until the Yeats gelding shows a hint of ability.
Not disgraced in a couple of starts on the Flat for the 126-rated handicap hurdler. Last seen finishing third of 25 in the Grade 3 Coral cup at the Cheltenham festival in March. Will need to improve Flat form to figure.
Sea The Stars colt who cost 145,000gns as a yearling but has failed to show signs of justifying that price tag in three Flat runs for three different trainers. Tough ask on yet another stable debut.
Low-rated 79 handicap hurdler, finished third of five beaten over 4L on Flat debut in a Tramore 1m4f maiden when last seen in August. Gives the impression we may not have seen the best of him yet.
Daughter of Getaway. Bumper winner, the mare finished never nearer in a couple of spins on the AW at Dundalk in December and February previously. May find this tough assignment.
Filly by Baltic King out of a Phardante mare. Nothing of note in a couple of bumper starts before a dismal effort on AW and Flat debut at Dundalk when last seen in March. Well out of her depth in this company.
Confirmed front runner who put the tactic to good use to win a 2m mares handicap hurdle here in October. Dismal couple of efforts on the Flat makes the mare hard to make a case for.
Yet to hit the frame in four starts on the Flat. Requires a chunk of improvement to play a role in this contest on first turf start.
Forecasts
Belfast Banter (11/4), Rayounpour (3/1), Born By The Sea (11/2), Lancastria (8/1), Rasiym (9/1), Thosedaysaregone (10/1), Da Dou Ron Ron (10/1), Shanroe (11/1), Penny Out (28/1), The Abbey (50/1), Forgetthesurprise (66/1), Mashell (200/1), Well Polly (200/1), Mr Dee Cee (250/1), Youarestar (250/1)
Difficult finale where you would be hard pressed to place your faith in a number starters. The Ger Lyons yard have started well since the resumption of racing and can land the spoils in the closer with LANCASTRIA. If the Cape Cross gelding can repeat his effort at Kilarney 12 months ago he could have the beating of his nearest rivals, likely to be Thosedaysaregone for the Charles Byrnes yard and Rayounpour for trainer Mick Halford. Born By The Sea, last seen over hurdles at this venue in November should not be underestimated.
- Lancastria
- Thosedaysaregone
- Rayounpour
